Mercedes W04 launch

This car is officially launched on Monday morning however Mercedes are unveiling it on their website right now, hidden behind a garage door which will slowly rise as more tweets with the #F1W04Reveal hashtag are sent, however at the moment their website keeps going down and we've been left with a half closed door and a very dark car. (Here is where it is being unveiled http://www.mercedes-amg-f1.com/en/#/category/home/ )

Whilst it's very bad quality at the minute the mess may be able to give some clues on the car Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton will be driving next year.

Because I'm massively biased and think Nico is better than Lewis Hamilton.

Could you perhaps drop the bias and give each driver their due credit? I mean I dont think Esteban Gutierrez will amount to much, but I dont only give Hulkenberg credit for being a driver of the C32.

It was more of a dig at the media (who have totally ignored Rosberg who is a brilliant driver) than Hamilton but I'll change it...

On the subject of Hamilton, here is his helmet for 2013:

I like it.

Have to laugh at Kimi Räikkönen's twitter page about the outage.

He tweeted pictures of all the revealed cars then a picture representing the Mercedes with 404 page not found error.

Anyway I am hoping for something this year. If Lewis and Nico can't get a win then they are going to get stuck in the midfield for a long time I think.

The nose cone looks the same as the one on the W02. Same bargeboards as W03. New front wing. New sidepod conditioners.

Thanks max power, my tablet don't have flash player so i was able to see the car, it has a similar nose solution to sauber i think with a slope rather than step or the full vanity panel.

^But did Lewis really outperform Button like he was expected to? It was a lot closer than people expected.

I think Rosberg could surprise a few people...but it is a very interesting test for him really because he's not had a genuinely competitive teammate since Mark Webber. So his true ability is a bit of an unknown still.

Yeah, Lewis really did outperform him by a long shot, no delusions there. But it was more an issue of Button not being able to get comfortable with the set ups in that year's car for whatever reason(s), not because of his speed potential.

Lewis would've easily sailed into his second WDC had the car not died on him so much, and tbf Button had his share of breakdowns as well (Monza).

And about Nico, yeah, I actually still do think he has more fire to light up under him, I just can't comprehend what that'll take to get it started. Maybe having his strongest team mate ever will change things.

Wow, what an amazing sponsor, Blackberry!!!!! Talk about being ahead of the times!

Car has an extremely interesting slopped pylon front wing configuration, more DRS wizardry?

Oh god, they actually still covered it facepalm.jpg

Lewis and Nico look good as a team, seems like they have good chemistry.

Don't really like the look of the car, as long as it's pretty quick I'll be happy. We'll see how things go.

Aww, poor Hamilton. Now he can't use his iPhone 5 to tweet telemetry. He have to use a Blackberry to do that now!

Overall, I think the new car look like ****. What have they been doing since last summer? (Yes, last summer, it's obvious they stopped development of W03 except for testing "coanda" exhaust.)

And I feel bad for Nico Rosberg. It feels like absolutely no one cares about him at Mercedes. All attention is at Hamilton.

It's weird to see Hamilton in a F1 car that is not Mclaren. But hey I'll go where the pay is good too.

Unless you are team like caterham or something.
