Anybody found the hidden game demo? I have. Pretty interesting and the way it is hidden in the game is cleverly done!
Are you talking about the one where you save the game when you're in the prison cell, then load the game? It wasnt that nice. Im not going to buy it when i comes out. It looks freaky.

Yep, that's the one. I just like the way its woven into the game as a 'nightmare' Snake has. As for the 'nightmare' itself no one knows if it's a demo for an upcoming Konami game or just something thrown together. I think it's a demo, though probably a rather incomplete one. Still, it's not too bad. I like freaky!

man i finally got this game a few days ago. pretty good actually. but i was told it was really hard. harder than the last two. but its not that hard really. and the boss matches are fairly easy. i mean i can take on a whole army of guys with just a survival knife. but its still fun. man last night i played the end. that so far has to be my most favorite boss match of any game. lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes. it took me a while to figure out a trick to finding him but when i i did it was pretty easy. i liked the fact that i had to hunt him. but his stamina was down to about a speck. if that ran out would he have just died on his own? and whats the deal with those little green toy frogs. this may have been answered already. i see them all over the place. i just shoot them. do they mean anything? oh and also when you start a new game it asks 3 questions if its your first time or if you liked mgs1 or mgs2. does that have any affect on the story or anything?

If you shoot all 64 of them, you get the stealth suit.

I believe if you choose first time you get a tutorial, and if you say you liked mgs2, Snake will use the Raiden mask in the beginning(during and after HALO jump).

That was pretty scary.

holy hell dude whats the deal with the sorrow? man i've killed a lot of people apparently. which i can see why cause my goal for my first time through this game was to kill everyone in sight. but whats the deal? what do i do?

Avoid them and when you die at the end your suppose to use this item I've done forgot the name of it because I haven't played it in a month since I've beaten.

oh yea i actually just figured it out. youre supposed to use the revial pill after you die. man i have killed A LOT of people.

If you want his uniform, and highly recommend it because it masks your footstep noise, go to the very end of the "battle" and touch his corpse. Before you touch it, take a pic of it. There's a surprise if you do. If you don't want it, just take the fake death pill. Then, take the revive pill.

Great fun can be had using the Spirit Camo and Stealth Camo! The guards just don't know what's going on!

I actually bought this game the day it came out, but drawing comics takes a lot of time so I finally found time to play it this week. The End is a BEEEOTCH! I'm just trying to finish the damn game before GT4 comes out, so I didn't have time to learn the terrain before mastering him. I just want to kill the bastard. So I went to the climbable tree in the NE corner of the first area and stood on the branch and waited. It's impossible for him to sneak up or snipe you from behind because there is a big wall there. When you're standing on the branch there is only one location he can hit you from. So I just waited for him to keep showing up there. Whenever he'd fall asleep behind some trees I'd wake him up with a warning shot to get him moving again.

Uh... he doesn't hunt you down; you have to hunt him down. It's not at all that hard once you know what to use and do.

Equip the micro phone and spin around in a 360 degree angle and listen for his breathing. If you don't hear it, he ain't around, so go into a different area. If you do hear it, equip the map and figure out where he is hiding. Figure out the safest way to get behind him. Stalk him from behind and that's it.

I wasn't really asking for advice. My way worked just fine. He's dead. That's all I care about.

i just read the whole thread, and i dont think the game has been spoiled too much for me, more like i am more than ever wanting to get my hands on this damn game.
In england, we have to wait for everything, like GT4, GTASA, MGS3 etc, but at least we are getting a better version.
The European version of MGS3 has two more difficulty settings, known as extreme, and european extreme, and will be harder overall, cos the american version is set to smallcat level so the kids can complete it, whereas we europeans demand a more testing experience (apparently) and get it.

The price we have to pay for that is a March release date (17th i think) which means i will be half way into GT4 when i have to drop my leather driving gloves and DFP and don my stealth camo for the other half of the day.
How will my missus cope?

Thanx for your info people, i have enjoyed reading up, im looking forward to having too many games and not enough time instead of too much time and not enough games.

Funniest thing I've ever read. It's not true. The only reasons there are extra difficulty settings would be because of the delay and justification of such things. No one wants a delayed game with nothing new. Trust me, it's not because europeans are "more advanced". Give us all a break.

Hahaha

Sorry, i thought that what i read in magazines was total balls and what i was told by industry insiders was true.

Obviously im wrong, and we should trust someone who calls himself "Tha con".
My mistake.

no, it has nothing to do, again, with European gamers being better at video games, or the market "demanding a more challenging experience".

When the game is released, some find it too easy, since the port over to PAL is still in the works, they make the game a little more difficult.

If you ever got into the industry at all, you'd know for a fact that anything that is added during a PAL release, or any delayed release for that matter, is always included in ALL VERSIONS of the "greatest hits" etc. It's not for "europeans" it's because they find portions of the game too simple, to they bump it up.

Don't let my name suggest anything, those are the facts, Europe only gets what it gets because the game is delayed and has been released elsewhere.

Hi.

I need some advice. I've never played MGS or MG so I want to know whether to buy MGS1 or 2 to save money instead of spending 50€ for MGS3. But it seems to be very cool indeed.

I saw a speed run and I still don't understand the story which is probably a problem. And the camera doesn't seem that perfect.

So should I buy MGS3? I really dunno.

MGS3 is this very first story to the whole MG series. It's a prequel, but it's so awesome of a story, and game, you should definitely buy it. You might want to get MGS, for twenty bucks, then buy MGS3 when finished with MGS. By that time, MGS3 should be cheaper. Both are fantastic games. 👍

Ok. Thanks Solid Lifters. I'll try to find more information about the game.

Me being behind the times in prehistoric England have only got my just got my hands on this great title.
It's awesoeme, but a little too short. But it was worth every penny.

Tell me what extras you guys get, if you know what they are. 👍

I'm struggling to beat the sorrow, I've tried everything I can think of, I can't use the revival pill at any point, I get to the end where he's overhis corpse, and then what do you do? Besides wast ammo shooting it or walking into him and dieing.

Live4Speed: When you're 'dead', use revival pill, it WILL work :). I had the same problem :D

edit: At the end, before you will walk into sorrow, make a pic of him. Then check your camouflages after taking the revival pill.

Thanks mate, thats been bugging the hell out of me but it's so simple, I never used the revival pill before so I didn't know you could only use it on the continue screen.

OK, it looks like you got your answer, but I just sent you a PM back with what to do.

In fact, you'll face all the bosses you fought before, of sorts. Take a pic with each one. Then, just get to the end of the 'River Styx.' When you touch the corpse of The Sorrow, you die. Take the revival pill, and you'll wake up with the Sorrow's camo in with your other suits. With it on, footstep noise is eliminated. It's an awesome thing to have when you play on the more difficult levels.

But, when you play the game again, make sure you kill Raidenovich to see him walking naked in the River Styx. Take a pic of him to have a funny pic. But he comes really quickly when "fighting" The Sorrow again. But, if you could care less, and since you have his camo already, just kill yourself, then take the revival pill to skip the whole battle.

Quick question: Are the Boss camos considered "Special Items?" After playing through a few times and just screwing around, I thought I'd go on a IFP and Stealth Camo run.
