Quick question: Are the Boss camos considered "Special Items?" After playing through a few times and just screwing around, I thought I'd go on a IFP and Stealth Camo run.
No, only the camera, CSAA and the Patriot pistol are special items.

The Stealth suit is a one also, and the Infinity mask.

The banana camo, and monkey mask are also SIs.

OK, it looks like you got your answer, but I just sent you a PM back with what to do.

In fact, you'll face all the bosses you fought before, of sorts. Take a pic with each one. Then, just get to the end of the 'River Styx.' When you touch the corpse of The Sorrow, you die. Take the revival pill, and you'll wake up with the Sorrow's camo in with your other suits. With it on, footstep noise is eliminated. It's an awesome thing to have when you play on the more difficult levels.

But, when you play the game again, make sure you kill Raidenovich to see him walking naked in the River Styx. Take a pic of him to have a funny pic. But he comes really quickly when "fighting" The Sorrow again. But, if you could care less, and since you have his camo already, just kill yourself, then take the revival pill to skip the whole battle.

:dopey:

You do realize all you ahve to do is make it to the end of the battle and touch the corpse to get the cammo., none of the other stuff is necessary at all.

Just gimmick stuff.

Though if you do take pictures of the bosses at the right distance (gotta be close) you get easter eggs of the dev's.

Fantastic game! Best game ever IMO. I am currently playing through again on european-extreme attempting to get the ultimate ranking (Foxhound) without tranquilising or knocking out or distracting any guards, and without using any camos apart from the ones you start with. Hardcore stealth!

If you take pics of each bosses there will be like 'ghosts' of the producers of konami in each pic

and also can someone help me, i'm looking for the kerotan frog on the Groznyj Grad Rail Bridge (the sniping part), i've looked numerous times but haven't found it...it's getting really frustrating cause i've been doing it for a hour and still haven't found it. I have done the Ga-ko Directional Mic Combination but STILL haven't found it >_<

if someone could tell me In description where it is...or take a pic of it with a cam and show me.

I'm going to randomly post what i did with all the boss fights

The Pain - For him....the aggresive side, nail him, jump into water, swim to other side, get up on other rock, shoot

The Fear - He's funny....What i did to get the camo was use a Fake Death Pill, wait for The Fear to come up to snake then turn around, then use the revival pill and chuck a stun grenade at him, then pelt him with tranq rounds, then i threw poison dart frogs in the middle of the forest, wait for him to go to it, then chuck another stun grenade....kinda a continuous thing after that...

The End - I ate his parrot XD, i didn't use stealth, buuut i went into Sokrovenno North and i saw him up on the Hill next to the Entrance to Sokrovenno south, i stealth around, get behind him and....Shower him in a hail of lead, then i follow him around with my Dun dun dunnnnnn Thermal Goggles

The Fury - One word for him...Crazy. i just got black camoflauge and black face paint then ran around hiding and shooting him

The Sorrow - i can't beat him so i grenaded myself then used a revival pill

Volgin - Shot his Treads with the RPG-7 then shot Volgin (repeat until soup is frothy XD)

The Boss/Joy - I hid... then shot...Geez.. i have a one track mind ._.

OoOoOoOo long post XD

KEROTAN FROOOOOGS!!!!!!!!!!! XD

Para-Medic Likes snake wearing the Ga-Ko uniform..i used it for the Cut-Scenes XD

I've got The Tsuchinoko aswell, lost it from torture, then recaptured it...it was bouncy...i sat there looking at it bounce around XD

Are you getting up to look for it? You need to get up.

You don't have to fight The End at all. At the docks if you have the Dragunov (SVD), you can take him out and his chair will explode. After a few seconds it will fly at you. Now you basically get to skip the boss fight, but instead there's a ton of guards on the three maps the sniper battle takes place. it's easier but it's nowhere near as fun. If it's your first time through the game, don't do it!

The first time I fought the End, I didn't have a sniper rifle. I used the XM16. it was actually even more fun than with the sniper rifle. Try it sometime!

I'm not sure if you've mentioned this here (it's a lot to read), if you shoot Ocelot after your first encounter when he's knowcked out, you'll kill him and it's Game Over-Time Paradox. Colonel from the other 2 MGS games calls Snake and says something like "You can't go changing time like that! You've created a time paradox!" lol It's awesome! ROFL

Yeah, we know all that already. It's fun to kill The End at the dock because of wheelchair wheel comes flying at you and smacks you in the head. I even took a pic of the wheel about to hit me. Funny stuff.

But, I wouldn't recommend doing it and saving your game. If you do, you'll miss out on the Moss Camo and the Mosen Nagant Tranq Rifle. Plus, you'll face about a dozen of Ocelots soldeirs in the stages your were supposed to fight him in.

yeah great game 👍 , just finished my ifp and stealth run and its well worth it, about The End, (wich i found to be a very tricky one and fun todo boss) if you fight him first save then set your Ps2 clock 2weeks or more forward and you see a scene that he's dead from old age :)
The Pain... very cool boss, The Fury was also impressive, The Fear was a other experience...with him i had a area with poison food, i had a great laugh!
The Sorrow.. more like a victim musea with a camo as a bonus.. (walk until he kills you and use the revival in the continue screen)
Volgin is good for some cqc trows since he electrifies you if you carry a gun, the camo of him ..i found it useless, The boss, also cqc and the Mosin Nagant no problem :)
i also unlocked the "private scene" with eva, its kinda sick i think but cool in its way, great ingame movies.
ive played Metal Gear2 and now both :)
ive played Mgs3 over 100hrs, im starting a extreme game but first a break :)
grtz

Since my PS2 has gone crazy, I've played MGS Twins Snakes without radar. You can see so much more without it and it will really get your blood going. I'd recommend it on hard mode for a decent challange. The hardest part, though, will be fighting Vulcan Raven without any idea where he is! lol
The rest of it is a passable test for the casual player.

Finished the game on easy about a week ago. I've played all the MGS series since the PS 1 version so I'm quite used to the game play. I found the whole game too easy and easier than the previous mgs games (1 being the hardest) The best and most difficult part was the end boss fight as it required stealth at all times and use of his weaknesses. I'll go over it again on medium but just got GT4 yesterday so I'll be playing that for a long time to come. Move over MGS.

I need your help guys, I'm playing MGS3 for three days now and right now I'm at the room with Garvin in it.He says that Sokolov is in a fortress behind the mountains. So I get the hell out of there but scientists always spot me so they call backup while I have only got 50 ammo in my AK and 60 in the XM. Every time I die trying to escape from the lab, is there some special uniform or something to distract those fools?

Cheers,

No, as long as the other scientists don't see your face. If they question you (Who are you? I don't recognize you...) just run away from them. The guards just ignore you, except for occasional harmless harassment (Don't fight back).

You're not supposed to shoot the guards at all. That's the whole point of the game, Tactical Espionage Action, not Duke Nukem Gun Blazing Action. You can get into the building, talk to Garvin, and exit the building without causing alarm.

Can anyone give me a good strategy against The Fear? Every time I go behind a tree to avoid his arrows and when the time is right I hit him with my AK or XM16 but I always die.

well heres what i do i use the thermakl goggels and shoot him with the sniper (svd) then try shoot down but if you are not good with sniper try to avoid his arrows and when he gets hungry throw him some rotten or poisen food ( don't go to food thenn prees dispose you have to get it out of your backpack ) so when he gets down to get the food shoot him with your aka or shotgun if you keep shooting cause he is going to throw up then just keep shooting so he wont get any food and that should help :dopey:

Cheers,

Everyone is giving you terrible advice on this fight I bet.

These items are your friend: Rotten or Poison food (spiders, frogs, or old food).

And the other iteM? Your MK22. Tranq's > Fear.

Basically once you start the fight, throw out a bunch of old food. Then hit him with a few tranq darts, and he'll run down and eat it, puke, and his stamina goes down, repeat and eventually he'll just "die" and you won't have to kill him, and you get his camo :)

I must say I'm amazed there's not a thread on this game yet. So here it is! The (un)Official MGS3 Thread! :)

I picked this one up today from my local Gamestop. Didn't even look for it yesterday, but they had plenty of copies piled up behind the counter this morning.

I also picked up Katamari Damacy, so don't blame me for not having any MGS3 info just yet.. hehe.

So has anyone else gotten the game? Thoughts? Impressions? Opinions? Chat away!

what if i did *****
it was ****in 👎

Were can I find The End's camo? After three hours seek and destroy I finally finished him of with a MK22 Tranq. but I can't find his camo although I exactly now the place were I finished him of.

Cheers,

Hey guys, I honestly never played any of the MGS games. Can someone please tell me what you do in this game, who are these bosses you are talking about, and other usefull information. I am thinking of buying this.

Uh, perhaps you should read this.

So, I guess you now know you were supposed to "stick him up" to get his camo. But at least you got his Nagant tranq rifle, right? Right?

Damn, no moss uniform for me then 👎

I killed him by searching for his footprints, sneaking up from behind and shoot with the tranq. or SVD. Better luck next time I suppose.

Cheers,

I've had this game since Monday now and I just beat the Fury. The game is pretty hard, much harder than previous MGS games. I'm not too fond of the jungle fighting though, I wouldn't mind it if the next metal gear solid is in an urban / industrial / office location again like the previous 2. I mean, this environment LOOKS great... but I prefer to hide in lockers, under tables etc, not under a rock or in grass. :) I'm glad that I'm in some kind of town now.

The game is great though, just wandering around looking at animals is fun already.

I couldn't find a way to go up the cliffs when fighting The End, so I just chucked grenades up the cliff until I finally killed him.

Next time try using the map. It's very helpful. It shows ways of getting to him without getting in his line of sight. It also points out his snipping points, and where he is located.

I beat the game again, this time aiming to get all of the camo's I could. I beat all the bosses with the Hush Puppy (Mk22) and yet did not get the moss camos nor did I get the Fury's camo pattern. However I did get the snake camo.

I swear, everytime I beat that game, I wanna cry. The ending is just too damn sad...! And yet so good!!!!

Easiest way to KILL him is to use thermal goggles and the shotgun. He likes to jump in close usually before jumping away. Get in a good spot with few traps and the like, wait for him to jump to a certain spot, aim in first person, and blast away every time he gets to your targeting point! Make sure you keep an eye on him and run in to cover or otherwise avoid his arrows.

Guys my friend is selling MGS3 for £20. Shall i buy it??
I really enjoyed MGS2 but im a bit worried MGS3 wont be the same, ive read loads of reviews but it hasnt made my mind any clearer.
The reason i am asking this is because im not sure whether to get MGS3 or Tekken 5 to play during the summer holidays.

MGS3 is more fun than MGS2. Different, but I liked it better. At least this time around you don't have bosses going around on roller skates. The bosses are far from realistic, but at least they're not as ridiculous as the ones in MGS2.

In a way I liked the end of MGS3, but I also didn't. It was a bit too dramatic for me. I also didn't like to see get his ass whooped by a woman throughout the game. I won't say any more or else I'll spoil the game for those who haven't played it yet.
