Interesting I hope Schumacher responds to that I wonder how well he could drive a WRC car?

Yeah, that is exactly what I was wondering. I guess it would be a true show of his all-around driving ability (or lack of it)! It would also be interesting to see how McRae handles the F2002.

a similar thing happened circa 96, McRae drove against Martin Brundle, who at the time drove for Jordan, and they exchanged cars for a test...

Brundle was almost as fast as Colin in the Impreza, and Colin was pretty fast in the Jordan too!


i doubt Ferrari would let anyone else than Rubens, Michael or Luca Badoer in the seat of the F2002, however... but if it's for a good cause, who knows!

Yea i could seee McRae drifting an F1 car. Is that even possible with TCS and all that other stuff?

It would be great to MS in a Rally car, very intresting to see how well he coped with it. Also, it would be good to see Schumacher try to do the same as Nigel Mansel did back in 1992/93 when he won the F1 championship and the IndyCar(CART) championship the year after.

This is one of those things I can see maybe Coulthard, Button, Rubens, McNish etc.. doing but maybe not so much M Schumacher, he just doesn't seem a charitable guy..

I think a battle of the Scots would be good, either McNish or Coulthard VS. McRae? :chkflag:

Michael did suggest that he would maybe want to do it, but that due to commercial considerations it wasn't terribly likely. I think he'd be good, but he's never struck me as driving like he's left his brain in the pit, which a lot of drivers did (Alesi, Berger, both Villeneuves), and that's probably required to be a decent rally driver.

Of course, it would be a different matter if Lancia were still rallying.

FIAT owns both Ferrari and Lancia, that would have been a marketing shot...

would you drive a Ford if your everyday car is a Ferrari? that's mainly why he refused... or maybe the team made him refuse. we'll never know, but he's lame, IMO.
