I was hoping we could get a thread going where a general discussion of GT2's MR cars can unfold. What's your favorite and, more importantly, why? How does it measure up to other MRs by comparison and contrast. How do you set it up? What course is it best suited to...

You get the idea.

I figure this way we can maybe try things out we never thought of or maybe rediscover a car, or try a new one...

Go.

Vector M12

A powerful car with good handling if controled property. I tuned it to over 580hp. Top speed around 215+. Lightened the vehicle as well. The course for it? Grand Valley speed way.

Cars that measue against it?

Honda/Acura NSX
Vector Wiegart W3
Ruf CTR 2
Lister Storm

Thats my Favorite. ;)

Castrol Mugen NSX.
it looks good and handles better; monster power for such a light, nimble car, never spins under pressure.

worthy adversaries:
Vector Weigert W8 (#2),
XJ220 (well, duh).

Venturi Atlantique 600LM
This car is amazing. It really takes a bit of tuning, because it's very unbalanced at first; but tuned right, it dances around corners beautifully. I don't know how a 705hp car gets under-rated, but this is a perfect example of a car that gets no props. I love drifting with this car, and smashing records with it, too.

Some other nice MR cars:
Nissan R390 '97 GT1 LM (a beautiful car with unflappable handling)
Jaguar XJR15 (smooth handling, V12, just enough power to beat the GT500's)
Ford GT40 Race Car (lovely glider of a car)
Ford GT90 (bizzare handling and styling, sign me up!)
Vector W8 (tons 'o thrust)

I think my fav is the R390 GT1 or the XJR15. Afew of you may not be surprised by that.

The R390 rides like it's on rails and really sticks to the road. I love taking it on tight, windy courses because it is capable of such great speeds through turns.

As a MR I think it stands out, especially against such twitchy sliding monsters as the Elise GT1 or the NSX's which I still don't like.

MR cars all need more attention to tuning.

The Venturi is fast as hell if tuned right. But if it's not, it's a spinout waiting to happen when you push it hard.

Although you could be fooled into thinking so by just looking at the car. God knows how they managed to shove that V12 in there.

 Aye, how did they do it? It sounds great anyway, so we'll let it slide.

I think the Elise GT1 is a lesson in patience; easier to deal with than the Motorsport Elise (which I still haven't sorted out properly).

But holy ****, Batman...that car is FAST!

I'd have to say my favorite is the Lotus Esprit GT-1. It is often overlooked because of the Elise GT1 but I find it to be a superior vehicle. Not quite as fast but so much more stability...The Elise GT1 is just too powerful, light, and long for my tastes...That car even under full rear downforce will spinout under the slightest changes in elevation and any counter steering it seems...That's why I prefer the esprit over it. The esprit can easily win any race its eligible for...GT world league and GT 500 are a snap.

toyota MR-2, the newest model.
even though its not one of the million dollar cars, it does handle like one, its got some power but its not that impressing, but it does look GREAT when you put the dark blue racing mods on it.
