Are there only two safety cars? All I’ve seen since I got the game are the BMW and that dog ugly AMG.

VXR
It's good to be able to get some colours that I've missed in previous weeks, but the wheel game is getting a bit weak now.

I don't understand why they don't just show and let you purchase all the Safety Cars and Gr.B/Gr.3 cars, decals, poses and wheels that have already been released. They have the space to do so. I know there are still colours yet to come around, so maybe that aspect would be harder to implement.

If anyone cares for my stupid math, by my count we're missing ~218 "XN" paints. Recently we've been getting around 9 new XN paints a week, which means we're still just over 24 weeks away from having all of the XN paints - which would take us to just after the game's first anniversary - although this is likely to lean out a bit as duplicates become more prevalent (they've gone from rare to 1-2 a week).

And yes, I have worked out when they should be arriving, by proportion of missing paints. We should get three green, three purple, one blue, one yellow and one other each week.

Although we probably won't, but this week had four green, two purple and three blue. And last week had two green, two purple, two blue and two other. That averages out to three green, two purple, 2.5 blue and one other.

So, for next week, I predict:
G1 Liquid Met.
G2 Liquid Met.
G2 Dark Flakes Small
P3 Dark Flakes Small
P3 Dark Candy Met.
P3 Half Matte
B5 Liquid Met.
Y1 Chrome
K2 Matte

Yeah, I'm a nerd, but if that comes true...

Haven't we had the Mitsubishi Lancer Final Edition Gr. B Road Car in Red before ?

I don't believe so, the two previous issues were the same grey colour but if you want a 100% answer I can check back my video/screenshots
of the Mile Exchanges and reconfirm later.

Yep indeed. I already have the red one which comes from the first colour appearance of all 7 Gr.3/Gr.B Road Car variants.

(Yellow 4C, orange Mustang, Red Lancer, dark grey WRX, light grey Mazda, blue RCZ and I think also blue Corvette)
( that were the colours of the first 14 weeks after launch these cars were up at the mileage exchange if I’m not mistaken)

I must have missed the Lancer somehow then, will need to check my garages and purchases again as I don't recall seeing the red one before.

Early on, the problem was that I didn't have enough mileage points. Now, I've got a wealth of mileage points and not a whole lot to buy. Kind of wish PD would just start adding liveries to the ME shop - like the ones seen in some of the GT League races.

btw. what is PD's game plan with these exchange cars? Why do I want the same car with a different paint?

They need to put more unique collectable cars in the exchange.

When the game first came out I think the safety cars plus the road cars were the only vehicles PD thought to put into the mile
exchange but I agree that there needs to be a bit more included in the roster.

The reason for the different paints on the cars is simply for collectors who like to get different standard paints on a vehicle, I have
multiples of the safety cars for this reason as it makes it easier if I have a livery in mind for the vehicle with a certain colour.

One suggestion I would have for PD to consider in futute updates is adding some of the liveries they've made from the offline
campaign races to the mile exchange or adding a new class for rare LeMans type cars or the F1500, there's still a lot of potential
that could keep collectors happy.

Regarding yesterday it seems I got my road cars mixed up as I was confused with the Subaru WRX Road car which came in grey,
the Evo as stated has only been available in red so far.

Has anyone ever seen these 2 wheels?
ADVAN Racing TC III (White)
ADVAN Racing TC III (Dark Grey)

I missed the first 2 weeks of MiEx and I have scoured every GTP News post since then and haven't seen those 2 return. It's the last 2 rims I'm missing. Just wondering if anyone can confirm it's in the first 2 rotations.

If you're wondering how I know about them despite never having seen them, my reference is this guy's video:

For others wondering, the colour variants I've seen so far for these special cars are:
M4 SC (White, Blue, Cream, Orange, Red)
AMG SC (Grey, Orange)
C7 (Blue, Silver, Red)
Evo (Red)
STI (Grey, Yellow)
Mustang (Orange, Blue)
Mazda (Light Silver)
RCZ (Blue, White)
Alfa (Yellow, Red)

Happy to be corrected if anyone else has proof of more colours.

I'm staking my reputation here going up against the mighty Famine, but here goes...

I've been keeping tabs on all the paints since release, thanks to the weekly GTP News page post and the video in the link above to fill up the first 2 week gap where there were no News post (he said he has all paints, so I took his word for it, unless there's somebody else in the whole internetz who has catalogued the first 2 weeks' MiEx items).

So far, we have 11 different types of paint (actually there's more, but I'll come back to that in a sec):
Aluminum Met
Candy Met
Chrome
Fluorescent
Half Matte
Large Flakes
Liquid Met
Matte
Matte Fluorescent
Matte Metallic
Small Flakes

In terms of hues, so far we have:
R1-3
O1-2
Y1-5
G1-9
B1-8
P1-9
W1-7
K1-3

If we assume every hue we know so far will have all 11 types, so far we are still missing 248 paints. That's not counting hues that we may not have seen yet (O3, Y6-9, B9, W8-9 for example).

Now in addition to the 11 above, there are also 3 more types of paint that seem to be classified differently by PD (because they are grouped in the far right in livery editor's selection, and not in order with the 11 types above):
Dark Candy Met
Dark Flakes L
Dark Flakes S

In terms of hues, we are missing even more from these 3 "Dark" paints - no Y3-5, G8-9, B6-8, P3-4, P6-9, W or K hues. If we assume those hues are not coming (partly because those hues are already dark, so doesn't make sense to add a darker version of those), then we are missing 22 paints from the existing hues already in the game. Also doesn't explain the mystery of the doubled R1 Dark Candy Met from a few months ago.

So adding those up we get 270 paints of the XN class yet to be seen, and this is a low estimate.

This is not counting Colorshift, which theoretically can have humongous possible variants of the individual hues.
3 colors = 8x8x8 = 512 possible combinations
2 colors = 8x8 = 64 possible combinations
That's not counting mild differences (like BPP1 and BPP2 variants). So far we've seen only 28 colorshifts.
Having said that I trust PD not to include vomit inducing combinations, so the potential number is probably much lower than 576 paints.

Then there's manufacturer paints, which I thought would see each manufacturer chip return from GT5/6 + new cars from GTS. But new chips have thinned out in the last few weeks so I think we may not see all old chips return. Good if you're a collector, bad if you're looking for a specific chip and it's not here yet

That matches my garage entries as well, I am glad I called it for the M4 SC as I wasn't sure if the red version was a different shade
than the orange as they looked quite similar so glad I bought it now!

You know that I would have done:

Week 1 - Oct 10
Y2 Chrome
B7 Large Flakes
Y2 Matte Metallic
B5 Dark Flakes L
BPY Colorshift
G9 Candy Metallic
Rosso Alfa

Week 2 - Oct 24
W1 Chrome
R1 Large Flakes
Vegas Yellow
P1 Matte Metallic
G2 Dark Flakes L
PZK Colorshift
O2 Candy Metallic

Week 1 is labelled as October 10, because that's when I got my review copy, and they stayed like that through the launch date until the change on October 24.

If we assume every hue we know so far will have all 11 types
Here's your problem :D

Rather than just noting them down in a list, I put the paint colours into tables in the super secret GTPlanet master reference GoogleDoc file. Here's an example:

paintcolors-001.jpg

That's Blue. Now, it doesn't seem like an important difference, but it lets me see patterns very easily.

There's not much of a pattern to Blue, except - as you note - no 9s. That suggests it's either highly coincidental (or PD is saving them up) that in the 31 weeks of paints during which we've had 77 of a possible 126 Blues we've had no B9s when they should occur at a rate of 1 in 9 Blues, or there's no B9s, and there's only 112 possible Blues.

You've also noted this pattern.

However, there's others. There's never been a Candy Metallic (or Dark version) of Grey/Key, for example. In the case of Grey, there's not been that many paints at all - literally nine - and with the exception of two of the four Mattes, nothing darker than a K1. It's difficult to draw any conclusions from K's patterns, but it looks like there will be very, very few K paints; it's very unlikely that K will have been seen as rarely as it has been if there are many more Ks available.

Speaking of K, it and W, are the only colours not to have any Dark finishes...

Speaking of Dark finishes, the highest number ever made available for a Dark is G7 Dark Candy Metallic. Excluding DCM, it's 5, on B5 Dark Flakes S, B5 Dark Flakes L, G5 DFS, P5 DFS and P5 DFL. The only other colour to have at least a 5 is Yellow, and as yet it hasn't gone any higher than Y2 for Darks (Y2 DCM, Y2 DFL, no Y DFS).

Other finishes seem to be dodging certain colours too. For example, there's no W or K Candy Metallic (regular or Dark) and no W or K Fluorescent (regular or Matte). That seems kind of a reasonable exception to have though - what would fluorescent silver even look like? However there's some odder ones too: no P Aluminum Metallic, no O Liquid Metallic or O Matte, no Y Dark Flakes S (even though there's Dark Candy and Dark Flakes L in Y). Then you look at Blue (all finishes, 1-8), Green (all finishes, 1-9) and Red (all finishes, 1-3) and wonder if these exceptions just haven't been seen yet or aren't included at all. Other than the low paint count K and W colours, it's unlikely that we wouldn't have seen these finishes in these colours by now. Even with O, with only 28 potential paints (O1-2, all finishes), we should have seen one Matte or Liquid Metallic in the 23 paints we've had so far - if they exist they would appear once every seven Orange paints.

With all the exclusions, my sheet estimates there's 512 XN paints (513 if you include the weird duplicated R1 DCM, although I think there'll end up being less), along with the manufacturer paints that seem to have been exhausted now at 44 (although I do have a weird double in there that I need to dig out the cause of) and an unknown number of Colorshifts currently standing at 29.

👍 Love adding the "Offline Liveries" idea 💡, I've raced against some wicked looking  cars in several of the Offline Races.
And I'm one of those "Collectors" :odd: who wants (at least) one of Everything !!

Hint, hint PD ...if you're reading this Thread !!:cheers:

P.S..... Famine is a Leg-End !! :bowdown::bowdown::bowdown:

[Edit to add the PS]

I think I saw a maintenance window pop up on the 15th. Maintenance was scheduled for 16th from 8am to 9am, I think.
I was so excited to see what it was and nothing happened when I turned the game on today. Am I going crazy? Anyone else saw that maintenance window pop up? :boggled:
