Hello everyone. I'm new here, so I don't know how much self-promotion is allowed; I hope I haven't overstayed my welcome.
I recently made a livery I'm pretty proud of, I must say. I'm a big military history buff (specifically the Napoleonic Wars) and the Highland regiments in the British army have some of the coolest uniforms, in my opinion. Therefore, I set out to reproduce a replica of a Gordon Highlander's uniform from circa 1812 onto a classic Jaguar.
For reference, I used illustrations from the 1929 reprint of The Life of a Regiment: The History of the Gordon Highlanders from its Formation in 1794 to 1816 which I own (told you I was a nerd), along with illustrations from other books, including Wellington's Army: Uniforms of the British Soldier, 1812-1815.
Here are a couple examples:
I'm very happy with how the tartan pattern turned out. In particular, the colors look right, which was the hardest part, since the real fabric has several layers. It ended up taking up about 270 decals to recreate. Here's a close up to compare to a real sett:

And finally, I made a matching firesuit and helmet.
And, one last, gratuitous photo
I hope you've enjoyed this foray into military history from the 19th century. If you have any questions I'd be happy to respond. And feel free to share your military-themed liveries as well!
