I wasn't even aware there was such an option.

To clarify, whenever I've stated a survival game (I have the PS3 version), you start with nothing. The only real concession to easiness in the console versions is that you just click on objects to build them (if you have the right components) rather than having to lay out the pieces in the right combination in the build window.

I expect giving you the basic stuff was simply for the benefit of the demo.

A lot. Things have changed around even more than the events you've missed. (Well, me too) 1.5 (And possibly some snapshots) came out after you stopped playing, and everything up to now.

Thanks for the replies. When I started playing the PC version about 18 months ago I started with nothing, but was on "Normal" difficulty (I since switched it down as actually found it rather harsh, then up again when I got used) but a friend who started more recently on "Easy" I believe got some items from the start.

The Xbox demo also starts you off with some stuff, and the PS3 demo starts you in a tutorial area and beyond this are structures (a village but also some other unusual ones) and a chest etc. As long as I can start with nada in the full version, that's fine by me

Oh and not having to lay out items on the workbench to build things is a little sucky, any way of disabling that? Although admittedly a few times I found myself looking the layouts up on the MC wiki anyway

I made a hidden entrance to one of my buildings last night. It's two sets of opposing hidden stairs, with a T-flip flop run by two switches, one inside and the other outside.

I haven't watched all of it yet as I'm at work but I will point out that it isn't really a GTPlanet server. It's my server that is mostly used by GTPlanet members.

We've also got some really cool features. I'm not sure if you covered any of them in your video. Info can be found here. I'll take you through some of them if I see you online.

So.. work has been slow on the giant Elephant. At first it was easy going, but now zombies and creepers have started to spawn on the elephant. Twice I've died and lost my armor and such to them, and production stopped until i fought back and got my stuff back. LoL
