Nice. I'll add you a little later on - given differences in timezones, I expect weekends are the times most likely when there'll be some crossover.
My general online ethos is to not touch anyone else's stuff unless it's fairly clear that I can - I'm sure I'd mainly concentrate on building myself a nice house anyway. I don't have a mic or similar but that'll follow shortly.

If people acted in real life like they did in Minecraft, it would go something like this:
Steve: "Hey Bob, I just remodeled my house. Wanna see?"
Bob: "Sure thing!"
*Bob goes to Steve's house*
Steve: "Nice to see you, Bob."
Bob: *Immediately runs to the nearest chest to see what's inside it*
"Yeah, nice place ya got man."
*Continues looking through stuff*

Well I've just had a brief few minutes of exploring, but not really done much yet as I'm still not familiar with the controls.
Also, I seem to be getting massive lag - blocks returning as I'm mining them, pigs not taking any damage then winding up ten blocks away with low health, that sort of thing. Dunno whether that's a server thing or my laptop, though the game itself seems to be running okay.

Ok I'm working on improving the lag at the moment. Slight problem is that I virtualized my dad's old laptop and suddenly he needs to access it so I've booted it on the same machine that runs the MineCraft server. That's probably going to have something to do with it.
If I can't get it perfect, I may consider going back to a hosted solution but only if people will play. There is no point me paying for it if no one is ever on.

Spent most of today making this:

Only mine took much longer than expected because I had to find a way of a) opening it from both sides and b) setting down a nice hidden redstone line to the exterior lever, which is much further away than in the video. Unfortunately the extra repeaters required slow down the door just a tad, and thanks to whatever way I've wired it up it can only open from one side at any one time - i.e. it will open and close from either the exterior or the interior, but if you fall over the castle wall and try and use the lever to get back in, it's somehow disabled. Shouldn't be a major issue anyway.

I still will be playing Minecraft PS3. Most of what I am doing is mostly playing around more with my Creative world with trying to find more ways to have fun with it. The creative fellow in me will always try to find new ways to make something good better.
Old news is that I am no longer trying to get Minecraft PC working on my current PC. Recently however, I am considering getting a more modern PC aside from my 2003-2005 PC. It won't be anything mind-blowing, but it will at least be modern and more powerful and capable. I also probably don't intend on running PC Minecraft on the absolute highest settings with this inexpensive PC I hope to get in the near future. Could I possibly connect with current Minecraft PC users? Maybe. All I can say is that I am hopeful within a few months to get into the PC Minecraft realm. Best case- I get a new PC and already up-and-at-em before July 1, 2014. So we'll see what happens.

I have at least two double-chests full of it, so I think I'd actually be able to do that, but there'd be no Iron Blocks and pretty wool, only cobblestone.Now do it in survival mode
I'm really getting into the redstone devices at the moment, mainly because I've mined far more of the stuff than I know what to do with...
Also, if you plan on making some of your own things with redstone then just let me know if I can help. 👍
