I know a lot of people don't get on with the "Reverse baseball cap" looks of the thing, but I really quite like it.... and now for some specs:

1.6 litre turbocharged 4 pot engine 208 bhp (155 kW; 211 PS)
Front wheel drive
0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in 6.4 seconds
Top speed of 149 mph (240 km/h)

Possibly only 1% more fun, than the hatch, but at least 50% not as dull.

Also.. Race Mod:

I have seen a couple of these around and they are a contender for the most ridiculous looking car I have seen in a very long time. A roofline inspired by the designers son wearing a baseball cap backwards. It looks like another smaller car has fallen onto a MINI and got lodged inside it. I would like to see them do a proper coupe for the new generation MINI.

I'll vote for any Mini so long as it has no more than 2 doors.

At the rate they are turning out variants of the Mini, AND, increasing the size of the car, I can only take so much before I start to question the Mini ideal.

Let's release a Mini people-mover SUV type thing. As long as we call it a Mini, it's cool. :odd: :irked: :banghead:

Any MINI that isn't a Cooper is just a money grab for BMW.

Not sure how the lineup stands on your side of the pond... but the Hatch, Countryman, Clubman, Coupe, Convertible, Roadster and Paceman are all available as Coopers. It's pretty much a trim level.

Also, the level of investment by BMW initially on Mini, and the ongoing financial commitments to ex-Rover Group employees, means it really isn't a cash grab, it's money they've earned. It's not like they just threw the Mini badge on any piece of tat, or re-branded existing models - they re-invented Mini from the ground up and offer a range of cars that slot in below their own BMW brand offerings.

People just like to bash and derpy laugh because Mini's aren't 'mini' anymore. Which is fair enough I guess, if you expect cars brand names to be descriptive of the product you're buying... on the plus side, they're also not uncomfortable rattly little tin-pot death-trap boxes anymore.

I used to like Mini, but I'm sick of them now. This is just getting ridiculous.

You can count me in as one of the people who doesn't like the styling on the Mini Coupe, I saw one in 2011 and thought it looked silly, but this one is even worse! The car looks like a lump of dough that somebody has added a roofline to, to make it look more like a car.

Mini Coupe awesome, checked one out today found out I could get one for $35,000 brand new with all services paid for. For the first 5 years 70,000 km warranty. seriously considering one.

Why is That Mini Cooper Coupe NOT in GT6?
I don't get it as Mini is developing their VisionGT car and not mor different Mini Cooper models I GT6.

The MINI Coupé and Mini Roadster are two-seater sports cars that were engineered and manufactured by MINI. The hardtop Coupé was unveiled in June 2011 and formally launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011. It is the first two-seater MINI.

The Coupé, which went on sale in the UK from 1 October 2011, is based on the Mini Cabriolet, but with only two seats allowing a bigger boot of 280 litres. The Coupé’s windscreen is angled rearwards by 13 degrees more than in the cabrio’s and the aluminium roof is 29 mm lower than standard Mini Hatch. The rear spoiler rises at speeds above 80 km/h. The range of the Coupé follows a similar pattern to other MINI models; featuring Cooper, Cooper S, Cooper SD and the range-topping John Cooper Works (JCW).

The JCW version comes with a turbocharged 208 hp 1,598 cc four-cylinder. It also adds larger 12.4-inch front and 11.0-inch rear disc brakes from Brembo, unique 17-inch lightweight wheels wearing 205/45R run-flat summer tires from Continental, a more aggressive aerodynamic kit and six-way adjustable sports seats.
