Mini Maniacs : Mini Cooper Challenge

This event is organized by the Mini Maniacs, check our main thread.

The Car : Arcade Mini Cooper 1.3i
- no modification
- no settings
- no hybrids

The Tracks : Any tarmac track in Arcade Free Run Mode
- 26 tracks in total
- no dirt track since the Arcade Mini has no rally tyres

The Rules :
- 2 tyres on the track at all times
- rumble strips are part of the track
- no contact with walls at all (no brushing, no crashing)
- no cheating

The Posts :
- all times can be discussed, including lap times.
- replays, sector times or video posting is not required but strongly encouraged

The Submission :
- no deadline, this is a permanent event
- PM me (flat-out) or post here your best hotlap times (all T times and lap time)
- by lap time I mean the time that was displayed during the race, and which appears on the save, not the one (slightly smaller) that is displayed at the end of the replay.

Is there an advantage with the Mini, have you tested it??

I would outlaw it if there is an advantage because we could then submit our times on the gt.de database, but I suppose it's down to the organisers of Team Maniacs to decide.

You can't adjust arcade cars.

I havn't tried it yet Sphinx, but I assume it might help because it is such a slow shifting car, but I wouldn't make a decision until someone is able to test it.

I'm surprised at that, I thought it would work on such a slow shifting car. Then again, you really don't do that much shifting anyway.

the modded Mini shifts well IMO. It's not the end of the world if you shift too early, however, the arcade Mini is a different story in that department

I never could try this on any car, because I have no finger close to that stupid triangle button when I race and it actually makes me lose too much time to move a finger and press on the triangle.
I would say that we shouldn't use it, because we would then lose any chance of posting our times on gt.de, which would be a pity.
However, I suggest we keep on debating and take a decision (majority wins) by the end of the week. Then, I'll specify our choice in the rules.

Personally I don't think we should be using the gear change trick ,that way all will be equal between all racers and it will be down purely to the driver of the car.

Yeah, but that would take a lot of space on the board.
I'll create a database that anybody would be able to access to, and display all registered times for a selection of event/track.
