True you can build a system cheaper then that, but I wouldnt recommend it for sim racing which can be very taxing on hardware if your driving in the rain at spa with a 40 car grid, for example

Start by asking yourself what resolution and FPS do you prefer ?
A 40 car Grid at Spa in the rain is a bit extreme but obviously a potential real scenario.
I have a now ancient 2060 RTX with an i5 6 core processor and 16gb mem. I can run every sim/game at max graphics at 1080P with a rock solid 60fps. I purchased this second hand a couple of years ago for just £500.
