Miracle Races?

In knowing that this is GT2... the computer's AI isn't quite up to par with what a lot of us are used to nowadays. I had just aquired a MR2 Spyder from the Toyota Used Car lot and tuned it with no more than 205hp. I believe that was sport exhaust and everything else was maxed out accept for the tires which were just Sports tires. Then I ran it a few times at the Machine Test Courses and was so pleased with it that I ended up racing it at the 591hp MR Challenge (which was the Redrocks course).

I was of course lined up with the likes of NSX's, Vectors, suped-up Elises, and Espirts. But several times I found myself in 3rd and 2nd places. I srsly thought I was going to win! That would've been my biggest disadvantaged win over the AI. But ultimately I took a dive and lost... I'm planning my revenge though.

Anyone else have any race like that?

Ah dude, I've had hundreds! of races like that. It doesn't take much to cream the Ai in GT2...you basically wind up limiting yourself way below the horsepower limits if you're good and care about being even better. .

Here's the webpage I created back in my GT2 days...my personal guarantee that I could do races over and over, while creating a "fair" system with the Ai and not guessing.

This is the problem with GT2. The AI is just not competitive enough. The game ends up feeling 'easier' to complete even though it have more races than GT1. If you want competitive racing, play GT1.

And about the miracle races, I've had quite a few too. Not mentioning the numerous times I've beaten the Muscle Car Cup with a Kei.

I took an Espace F1 (Renault) to the GT All-Stars, lost every single time when I made a slight error.

Other than that, I took a Toyota 2000GT to rally races and the Historic Car Cup against a GT40.

The Espace is a reliable winner, providing there's no banked turns. An Espace at RRV is a nightmare :scared:.

And that's where I took it.

I got to the point where I'm crazy enough to try and win the All-Stars RRV using Rally Cars (from dealer's special models) and Muscle Cars (fully-tuned). Can't quite manage it in some of them but boy was those races tough. Good fun though.

Haha, bro this is what makes GT so fun! On holiday I basically spent my whole time seeing which underpowered cars I could use to beat the Turbo Car Cup, the Test Course race, with those 2 drag cars - 1000hp but they have to break so hard for the turns, means you can slip by. Won one in a Toms Supra by 0.03 seconds or something? Great fun!

If [you] get a big sturdy 4WD on red-rock [you] can cut across the grass on the second bit of the S-Turn, saves about 0.5-1.7 seconds!?!?!?!

[Edit by moderator: How many seconds did you save by shortcutting the complete spelling of "you" twice? Don't be lazy.]

Strange race here. I used a Sprinter Trueno (one in profile) to race in a 591BHP race event. I think it was one of the sports cars race. It was at Trail Mountain and I won by 3 seconds...I only had 243BHP... and all the other upgrades :dopey:

Lol, I got 2nd in Muscle car cup with a Beat, an AZ1, and a Cappuccino but it took a Miata to get first (easily)... I beat trial mountain enduro (394 hp) with my 203 hp R30 Turbo RSX.

I Went into a race against cars with 100-150hp in seattle short course with a FIAT 500R without upgrades, But i won because the others crashed or braked too hard at every corner. I thought this was a miracle race because i was out horse-powered!
22hp<100-150hp!

P.S.FIAT 500R own at tracks with 1million+ corners because less braking needed!
