It makes me wonder if someone will be able to use this for any rallying racesim games that are out on the market.

I also imagine this setup would be used by some driving schools as a teaching aid to students. I remember seeing a story on a news show years ago about students at a police academy using driving simulators and software that were modded from a arcade driving simulator game done by the company who made it.
