Mission Race IA1: Suzuka 1 Sektor with Castrol TOMs Supra

Ok.
So ive had no problems whatsoever with the career so far. I've golded every event, had no problems with karting, coffee brakes or any other race.
Mission races in particular have been 2-3 "adjustment runs" at most to get used to the car where I overshot it and went off-track. But usually with my first complete run I golded the event first try. So far so good.
I came to mission races in IA and laughed at it, actually I wanted to go to bed, but I just unlocked them and would give the first mission a quick try. I thought "yeah, gold that quickly, then bedtime".
Oh boy, was I wrong.

Holy ****! I dont say its impossible, far from that, but the thing is the learning cuve is one of the steepest I've ever seen.
On a scale from 1-10 all previous mission races are a 1 and this one is a 8 or 9.
I will try it again today, maybe I was just tired and unconcentrated, but am I the only one with that impression?

I managed after 2 tries. The trick is to pass the GTR breaking into the last corner. It feel quite agressively but the Gtr will give you space.

i passed him on the breaks several times but i either dont get a good enough apex for the corner when driving clean or the GTR kicks my rear..
im still .045 short of gold..

So you dont feel its exponetialy harder then every other mission before it?

Probably the harder end of the mission races, but this method helped me Gold it

Keep plugging away and make a mental note of where you pass each car. Then gradually you will pass them earlier until you find you are passing the GT-R before the apex of the final corner.👍

There is so much time to be made/lost in the esses. And the second to last corner can be taken really fast if the angle is right - a small tap of the brake about 75m and turn in across the apex - without triggering disqualification!!

oh im sure i will get it.
As said, i got the gtr before the last apex, but couldnt get a good enough one in the process.
but you may be right, im loosing too much time on the second too last right hander.
need to optimise this corner and see how much i can cut it without a dq.

I must have driven this mission 200 times now.. bloody frustrating. Golded the rest of the missions easy, but this one.. it's a beast!

Sorry about that, but is there any way to get a gold on it, I tried the ones they mentioned got to about .026 seconds from gold. so close yet so far!

I can't remember what I got on it, but I know that I golded everything aside from S license, so it's definitely achievable with a DS3. Try adding a few people and race against their drive lines to see how they did it.

Edit: Scratch that, I don't think you can compare drive lines on overtake challenge, so keep at it and you'll get it eventually.

It's all about keeping calm.
The test itself wasn't hard for me, I just did it yesterday, took me about an hour, but the thing is... I took all that time because I'd usually miss corners and go out of track, in resulting into failing.
When I actually kept calm and just did a normal run (I wasn't even pushing, I was more of clearing the corners) I managed to beat the gold with a second of advantage.
The same goes for S-4.

So my advice is, just try to clear the lap, learn the corners itself, learn how the car behaves, don't really rush it and push too hard or you'll just fail.
