Using the LSD on an Evo is like going to a steakhouse and ordering a tuna fish sandwich, imo. AYC is what makes it unique, seems a shame not to use it. Admittedly, it does have a bit of an artificial feel while cornering, but I think the reduction in understeer is worth it. The known "wobble" issue only really applies to the X, in which case you simply lower the setting until it stops. I set it to 80 on the X and 130 on all other versions. If you decide that you really don't like AYC you're probably better off in a Subaru.
I've started messing with my evo ix and while it comes with the AYC stock I was wondering if the adjustable LSD was a better option for tuning, or is the AYC the faster option?
Really? If I set the LSD right, then it's overall better. It doesn't wobble, better feedback, holds the line better, easier to drive, no unexpected reactions, even less understeer in the most corners and it just feels better.Definitely Active Yaw Control. Makes the Evo handle basically like a GT-R. I can't make the LSD replicate the effect is has on understeer. You'll get incredibly annoying oscillation on the straights if you dial AYC up too high like londoner said, but the increased corner speed and improved corner exit makes it worth it.
VTiRojRemoving AYC from an Evo is like removing a Skyline GT-R's ATTESSA system, you're basically ripping the soul out of the car. From a performance standpoint though, LSD is better if you know how to set it up. Otherwise the AYC is more user-friendly with it's "turn dial for more turning lolz!"

I'm ok with ripping it's soul out if it goes faster
Nismo34Ok, so AYC For tight twisty tracks, LSD for tracks with long straights where corner speed isnt as neccesary maybe?
