The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is considered to be one of the best road legal rally cars, among the Subaru Impreza WRX and Ford's RS models. Ralliart have been known to, on occasion, take the Evo further, with the Evo VI Tommi Makinen Edition in 1999 and the Evo VII FQ 400 in 2003. In 2009 they went to work on the new Evo IX, with the EVO IX MR Tuned by RALLIART.

Based on the MR GSR, this Japan only model featured a carbon fibre front splitter, Ralliart livery, Ralliart RA04 17" alluminium alloy wheels.

It featured the 291HP Engine of the GSR but is detuned down to 237HP, featuring a single scroll turbo instead of a twin scroll turbo in the standard Evo's. While the car is less powerful than the standard Evo is less expensive than the GSR ($26,000 for the Ralliart).
