No, in 2000 the Lancer Evo was very diferent from this Mirage, and do notice, this is not the regular Mirage.

The Evolution was on a Mirage chassis though, and the basic design is the same, just the evo has bigger bumpers and flared arches.
 
This was my first car in Gran Turismo 2! :D So many memories...
I can't remember my first car, but I remember that this was one of my favorite cars in GT2, I can't understand why they took it from the GT-series at all . But I wonder how common this car is in reality because it's very hard to find pictures of it.

Maybe it was a limited edition? I might fire up GT2 later and post the info in game about the car.

And yeah, it's a shame that this car is no longer in GT, there were so many good cars in GT2. I'm not saying that reusing even more assets from the older games should be done, but maybe PD should look back at the car lists from the older games for inspiration for future titles in the series.
