Hello Everyone...
I had an idea, Since there is a new GT DFP wheel comming out, It looks great but its missing a clutch and a shifter. The things I love about it is that it has more buttons on the wheel then G25 that only has 2 buttons..

This is what I did so far. Controller is Light weight so its perfect, and works at the same time with G25...

Once the new Dual shock 3 gets here, I would like to take apart the Sixaxis controller, move the sticks and other buttons and integrate it with the G25 wheel. I think its a good idea since the Controller is Wireless, and to recharge it , all will be needed is to plug it in every couple of days or so.

Does anyone have any ideas? Any clues on how to take it apart, and lay out the buttons and sticks on the wheel?

I'm not much of a tech guy, so all the help would help. :)

i thought about making my sixaxis into a wheel and pedals, not hard but you have to see how the pedals in the g25 work first.

after that go to benheck.com and search for ps360, itll have a link to a how to in endgadget. one of the pics has what every thing in the button pad conects to which might help you, it also has how to wire up a pot to the L2,R2 triggers. hope that helps!!

Is THIS the link?

Hmm.. now I have an idea.. but I would like to separate the two Sticks and the four buttons, and still have it registered as a controller and have the battery pack. I think it might be harder then I thought it would be.

For now, when the new GT5P comes out I might stick with the TAPE design...

Or i can go to Logitech forums and complain that they should do something like that, that it will easily snap in the wheel to have more buttons for PS3 games.

It's actually pretty straight forward.

You just have to figure out how to take apart the face (or backing) plates of the wheel, hopefully without cutting. Take apart your Sixaxis controller, noting where/how all the buttons, triggers, sensors are and how they are connected to each other. Cut holes into the face of the G25 wheel, stick internals of controller into said wheel (which may, or may not be possible with the amount of space), and place buttons into said holes, with the applicable sensors where they would be if they were in the controller, as to pick up the movement of the buttons/triggers/sticks (whatever you choose to utilize from the Sixaxis layout).

It's all dependent on how comfortable you feel with such a process. You also could just take apart the back of the controller, cut the casing to match the contours of the wheels faceplate, and glue it in place. It wouldn't be as elegant, obviously, but it could look decent, and have all the functionality you are looking for, and without the use of Scotch tape...

;)

Wait wait wait.....hold on just a second....

Are you guys telling me that GT5P allows you to use your sixaxis/DS3 in conjunction with your Logitech FFb wheels? If so, does the DS3 rumble simultaneously with the FFB from the DFP/G25?

cutting holes in my wheel NO NO lol..
what i mean is to Take apart buttons, and somehow place them on top.. I like your second option, TO just cut away the back of the controller and glue it to the wheel.. that way I dont have to play around with cables and what not since I never did anything like this before. So I might Undertake that :).
Too bad that the, I am not sure how you call that part, Mother board or something like that inside the controller, is in one Piece, If it was in 2 pieces I would separate the buttons down the middle so it be easier reach for the fingers.

So one the DS3 in US comes out, then I will start working on that project. Thanks 👍 I haven't thought about it that way, one quick and easy solution

By the way, If I unplug the Trigger Buttons (R1, R2, L1, L2) will the controller still work properly?

When I play GT5P with the G25, I can switch gears with the Controller, look back, use the E-brake and what not.. Only thing wont work is Gas and brake i think, and steering (i am not sure I need to double check). Other then that everything works..
I don't have a DS3 yet, but I don't think the Rumble will work once you plug in your FFB wheel.

I think Molding MY Controller to G25 will be great since all the buttons will work for Ebrake, and Look back, left right. as well I will assign to have a Horn, and those new features to change traction controls, brake bias, and everything else.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know that. Hopefully someone that does own a DS3 and a Logitech wheel will tell me if the DS3 rumbles along with the G25.

Also NoxNoctis Umbra, you mention you can shift hears with the Sixaxis.....can you tell me if it's possible to map each gear to 6 seperate buttons on the Sixaxis for H-gate shifting?

oh.. I don't think that it is possible. I own a Japanese version, and I don't see anything like that. As well I looked at translation thread and there are no Separated Gears for you're controller. I think its better to have a sequentail on sixaxis then 1-6 gears.

Why won't you like the wheel.

Besides if 1-6 gears were possible on a controller, then it would be possible to make a nice hack like the video :), too bad its not :(

Hello NoxNoctis and everyone else. I would like to know if this will remain the case in the full version of GT5? Where we can use our DS3s along-side our wheel, and change gears with it rather than on the wheel itself? Anyone know?
