-Voting will close on a Friday at 5:30pm GMT

The next competition will take place on Wednesday the 2nd of September.

Just so you know guys, it is only the fact that I have next to no models to take shots of that I am not participating. I have connections with a guy who owns a model car shop, so I may get one one day, then I'll join in :D.

Well, I eagerly await your participation. ^^

Thanks SVX! I took it out the back of my house where there is a dirt driveway. The dirt was all hard & cracked so I took the shot there. Did you notice the Hay in the trayback? The shot didn't take long to get and I'm pretty pleased with it. I hope it's eligible for the comp beacuse this is the first photography competition i've entered in. :)

Of course it's eligible.^^ The hay in the back is a nice touch. Good attention to detail.

The only think I would say is to use http://imageshack.us/ to upload a larger shot (Closer to the 900px limit). But you don't have to if you don't want to. It's just a larger shot would be nice. ^^

Well I'm thrilled that someone of your skill eagerly awaits my participation - but I wouldn't say that untill you see my efforts  . I have a 1/18 Bburago (spelling??) Viper GTS, New Beetle and my favourite and first model, a Ferrari 250GTO which is presentable, but has seen better days. Fair enough because I got that for my 3rd brithday - I was lusting after a 1/18 scale model ever since I was into cars, so about 1, maybe 2, and while I wouldn't have chosen it at the time (I was going for either an F40 or a Gullwing, but parents chose), I have definately warmed to it.

Seems weird then that I only have those ones - and I'd love to get back into models, but I don't know what brands to go for.

I'll see if I can whip up something with one of the aformentioned models. 👍

Heh. Don't diminish yourself, I've seen your gallery. You have great talent. Model photography is a bit different, but it's not hard to pick up.

Oh I know about parents buying models that you don't choose. Through time though, I appreciate it more though. It was a blue Bugatti EB110, my first. I don't have that many in total...and some of mine aren't presentable either (like that EB110. XD). I think I have about...25? (I don't have that much space in my room...) But you only need one for a photograph. I think a 250GTO is a brilliant model....especially as a first. Arguably the best Ferrari ever.

Bburago models sometimes aren't detailed enough, but they still can be used if lit well (I have used them more than once, like a few weeks ago with a white Corvette convertible). Or for the silhouette one we just did...

Autoart models are a tad pricey, but they generally offer good detail for the price (detailed rotors that rotate through the calipers!). Most model companies now are fairly detailed, even some of the less expensive ones. ^^

Good luck..and have fun. Because that's the most important part. Trying new things. ^^

Ahhh of course! the EB110 was another one I was going for - the Bugatti blue one. I used to call it the "smarty pants car" when I was little - those were the days where those cars meant everything about speed and I was too little to care about rubbish handling that ravaged through all those supercars. The Diablo was another - being a '90s kid, I will always have one of those over any current Lambo hypercar.. All this talk is making me want to get into modling again.

Thanks for the compliments and info 👍 :D.

I can see it being somewhat of a "smarty-pants car" actually. Hah. Yeah, the speed phase. I believe all of us go through that.

Ah, the Diablo. Still an incredible looking machine. Lamborghini has a knack for making those cars that young boys (and older boys too :D) fantasize over. The Countach and the Diablo are both such icons.

I hope you do decide to join us, it's all in good fun. The more the merrier.

And you're welcome, of course, but there's no need to thank me. ^^;

I didn't know there were photo competitions here! Might have to start entering.

EDIT: I didn't see any general photo competitions.. do you guys have any?

Well, I certainly hope you do end up entering. ^^

We did, a little while ago...but they stopped due to lack of interest, I believe...

You'll have to ask Nicknamealguem about it, though. I think he ran them.

Hopefully a few more will show up by tomorrow. I had no idea what to do so I screwed myself by pick outdoors

I did mine tonight just before it got really dark. I remembered the bug spray. Heh.

And I think you will still win. XD
