Week 25.

-LongbowX---2
-Cougar 23---2
-NISM0_SKYLINE---0

It was a tie this week, so I am going to give a tie breaking poll a shot. Hopefully it won't turn out the same. Thank you to all who voted (and hopefully you'll vote again on the new poll!), and for those who entered!

Winner: Week 23 - Theme chosen by LongbowX

THEME: In his words: "A shot of 2 cars together. ...Haven't done one with multiple for a little while. ^^;"

Rules:
-Editing - only levels, contrast and adding a border/watermark (keep it as stock as possible)
-Photographs must not be a 'snapshot' but must include some composition and effect - Base the photo on a studio shoot, or even use diorama/composition to create a realistic setting (you could position the model and camera in such a way in an outside setting so that it appears to be a 'real' car)
-No HDR shots
-Shots must be taken between January 2008 and the present day - exceptions can be made as long as the photograph has not been shown before the competition e.g. unposted work.
-Picture sizes - Must be no longer than 400px on the longest edge, full sized images must be no longer than 900px on the longest edge

-Deadline for each week will be 5pm GMT on a Wednesday, poll will be up by 5:30 pm GMT
-Voting will close on a Friday at 5:30pm GMT

The next competition will take place on Wednesday the 9th of September.

So the winner of the Model Automotive competition 24-Tiebreaking Poll(either you or me...you probably you by the looks of it:sly:) gets to choose week 26's theme? Am I right? If so which week does the winner of this competion(25) get to choose the theme for? Sorry if I confused you but I'm a bit confused myself.:dopey::crazy:
And also, are you allowed to use smaller cars(hotwheels/matchbox etc.) for the competition. I don't have that many bigger cars to use so Entering this competition week after week is going to be a bit hard if I can't. Thanks, Cougar23

The person chooses for the following week. 24 picks for week 26, 25 picks for the week 27, 26 picks for week 28. I can't have the person who just won that week pick the next one because the contest is closed (the winner decided) at the same time the next competition is opened. Unless of course they had something like 10 minutes to pick - which is obviously not possible since they may not be online.

You might win this one, it's still anyones game. 3 vs 2...

Originally there was a rule about scale, but we decided to take that out some time ago, so yes - Hot Wheels or Matchbox cars are fine to use. ^^

Good luck! And if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I might try with my 1:43s. I have an R8 and a 250 GTO (yes another).

I had a look at that AutoArt webiste -^elleventy billion. There is some amazing stuff on there. I especially have my eyes on a 1964 Porsche - If I win 3 photography comps, then I'll get one so I have an eighth of a chance with the model comps.

Any other good brands I should look at LongbowX?

Can't have too many 250 GTOs. ^^;

Yes, Autoart has quite the expansive collection of cars available... I hope you do win 3 - and I hope you get that 1964 Porsche - but it's not wholly necessary to win. I have won with many models that weren't Autoart ones (though the M5 this week is one).

There are other good brands, but Autoart models are generally good quality for the money. There are many other brands that will cost you way over two or three hundred dollars for just one (impeccably detailed) model - generally Autoart models are below a hundred. Plus they offer a lot more variety in their cars than the expensive ones.

Here's my Pic for this week's comp:

I'm not overly happy with the result, but it's better than nothing especially when I've got hardly any cars to work with. :)

EDIT: If the picture needs to be smaller can someone please tell me and I will resize it. Thanks.

It's quite alright with the size it is now. I'm not really that strict when it comes to thumbnail size, etc. Mostly because I save them and upload them to another site when I do the poll.

Nice shot as well, especially for Hot Wheels. ^^

I was way off this week, I couldn't think of anything. I'll just throw in this old one. Good Hot Wheels one though, I didn't know you could make Hot Wheels look that good in a picture 👍
