THEME: In SweetshopUnion's words: "3/4 view shots: this should test out peoples composition, lighting and creativity more.."

I went with Nismo's because the car is lit so darn well!

If you re-shot that with a proper white floor (ie. Paper) instead of the dented brownish surface it would look like a genuine car shoot.

Thank you, it was a lucky shot.

I've been meaning to go and get some big sheets of paper to use as a background, but I keep putting it off. I have to admit the dented bottom was the thing that bothered me the most, but I was hoping it wouldn't be too noticable .

Woah indeed.... Great work from everyone. Really impressive stuff guys. My vote went to 80Y 2C2 as the Viper with the reflection just looks so damn cool.

Also LongbowX, if it wasn’t for the damn windscreen wiper, that could be mistaken for a real car shot. Seriously you have some major talent 👍

More than just lucky, me thinks. I have a giant roll of paper you can cut from, as long as in return I get say....the 787B for an hour or two...

Yup, I'm pretty pleased with the turnout. 80Y's reflection is totally worth your vote, it's wicked. I'm very impressed. I only got to lighting cars later...

Haha, I'll make sure to photograph it from the rear next time. But thank you for the positive reinforcement. I shot at the worst possible time, I think I can do better...

Cheers for all the comments guys :D (including Speedster's from the other thread). I knew about painting with light from day one with the DSLR, and I wanted to use the mirror in s more creative way, but it turned out alright for a first go I guess. The lighting was even crazier, but I toned it down and desaturated a bit to get rid of some of the imperfections in the paint, and also to give it a more sinister look.

I went fo NISMO's shot. Wow. What lighting, and what a high grade shot! Great looking model too!

I am having trouble working out what Minolta's Mini is sitting on. Almost looks like a duvet in a glass box? I don't really know.:P

I didn't know about light painting at all, haha. I was...really bad. I made up things as I went along, hoping I was getting better. It's more than just a good first entry, it's a good entry - period.

Paint imperfections are the bane of my existence. :ouch:

NISMO's model collection is amazing. And that Peugeot is no exception...

I think Minolta's is sitting on a...plastic box of some kind? I don't know either.

Haha, you're both wrong. It's on top of a car, a Ford Windstar to be specific.

It was a great week, I went for Longbow's. Everybody had good entries this week, 80Y had a brilliant shot even without the "for a fist entry" suffix. NISM0's had fantastic light as has been said.

Ohhhhhhhh - its a shadow! :dunce: Totally missed that on yours, Minolta. I just thought it was somthing soft in a glass box .

Cheers again.
