I must explain this is essentially a continuation theme from Week 28 of this competition where we did 'Colour Theme: Warm Tones' however we never did the opposite of it. So here we go :D

Seeing as I just found this thread today, I didn't get a shot in. But seeing as how no one else has one either, I think I'm not alone. I should have one by tomorrow night if work doesn't knock me out.

BTW: I like the new title blocks 👍

It will of course be open tomorrow 'till late, and hopefully you'll be able to get something together.

And thank you. I'm working on ones for the Auto Comp too, should be up soon.

It's not dark enough for me to get some good pictures, but I will get some done tonight.

Here it be. I didn't want to use blacklight at first, but it was a good addition me thinks. Alittle too blue, but it's something different.

Not a bad shot to me LBX.

Just a couple questions for you all,

1.How many models do you have?

2.Where did/do you buy most of them?

I only have a couple atm and am keen to get a some more in the future and enter the model photo comps too.

Been actively following this stuff for a while just haven't had any time to devote to it yet. Just got my setup to where I'd like it, as far as computer stuff and Flickr account. Altohugh haven't put all I'd like on it yet, (PP can take a while when you have a back log of photo's to go through). But I plan on sharing my stuff in these forums soon.

Anyway enough ramblimg from me.

Keep up the good works guys. 👍

Looks good Chris, I think the waves in the background work well. The DOF looks great on it too. 👍

GPR I have a fair few models, about 20 if I recall correctly. Although some of them are 1:32 scale so I don't use them too often in this competition unless the theme asks for them. Concerning the purchasing, I tend to buy them at motoring shows, or off websites like GTModels, Diecast Legends and the Mini Model Shop. That said I haven't bought a model car since 2008, I'm hoping that will change this year.

But to be honest you could shoot the same car every week and still have the possibility of doing well, no-one is asking for variety all the time. Me and Chris (Longbow) have our favourite cars to photography I've still got some 1:18th's that I haven't show ever in these competitions. My favourite has to be my Audi R8 or my AutoART Aston Martin DBR9. I think Longbow's favourite is probably his Lamborghini Jota.

But we'd definitely appreciate some more competitors! We've been only been having about 3-4 entries per week for awhile now. So the more the merrier! Plus it pushes us to become more creative :)

Cool, yeah i figured it wouldn't matter too much not having alot but I would definitely like to get some more.

Not surprised the AutoART Aston Martin DBR9 is one of your favourites, it's a good one. 👍

Well thanks. :dopey:

I guess since you asked us all, I would answer as well.

I have about 25 or so, all 1:18s really. They aren't all in what I would call "photographable condition" though. And it's not really about the amount you have anyway - you can use one over and over if you wish to. I collected mine over the years, many before I started photographing them. Those are mostly from stores, but now I've gotten into buying them online. Even from eBay, if they're very hard to find (like the aforementioned Black Jota SVR).

I really look forward to what you bring to the competitions. And I suppose I will look at your other work too. Believe me, I can relate to the backlog as well. So many to go through, so little time...

Hope to see you around soon.

I suppose it doesn't comply with the theme that well, but I took this picture without knowing about this weeks theme. Didnt plan on entering, so thats whey I used some red.

I think we have about 40 1:18, mostly racing, but they look the best. I get mine online mosty, but we have a few good Hobby Shops around that carry some good cars. The only problem is they cost much more in store then online, so we usually don't buy them in store often. Our other source are racing events. Every year at Mid Ohio one guy shows up with a huge trailer of 1:18. Usually to much for us, but no I have my job I'm going to get a good one.

Longbow, do you go to that Scale model place in the Yorkville area? We found it during Gumball, but used a lot of your money on the trip and didn't buy anything :guilty:.

That's a decent number.

Exactly. :grumpy:

Yeah I'm keen on mainly getting 1:18's myself. And yeah i'll likely look online first to see if I can find some good prices. ;)

Thanks for the info guys.

I have been there before, but it's not that close to me. There are...or were...others closer to me. It is good though. Too bad you couldn't buy anything.

I figured you'd have to of been there once. I have nothing close to me, the closest is about an hour away. There's others, but they have like 6 cars and it's all Miasto. Here's a little tip, if you ever find yourself in London England, not the Candian one :P, go to ModelZone. It's amazing, the last two times we went we left with over $100's worth of stuff :D.
