Ahhh....Little pieces of the works of art they represent, who here has got some nice models, and whats your best? Right now I've got a 24 kt. gold plated Rusty Wallace Harley car, 1 of 2000 ever made, but tommorow ill be the proud owner of a 1989 Sauber C9 by Exoto.

My most expensive is a Kyosho Lotus Europa...got it for $15 from a sale that Exoticar was having.

Still waiting for the Kyosho RX-7 to go on sale...I don't have $50 plus shipping for it at the reg price...

Naa...the Cataloug(I can't spell today...).

There's none in the middle of the US at all, like they don't want our purchases or something...

I do find some models that are in Exoticar at the international autoshow, but the booth is selling them for a pretty penny.
My main models are Maisto, which are found everywhere from Walgreens to Target to KB Toys to Toys R Us, you can virtually by them in every square mile of STL. :)

And I like the suspension and sturdy construction, cause I do play with my cars. Also, reg price of most Maistos are $20, and you can find them as cheap as $12.99, and usually they are $15-$18 so I can afford them.

Me and my Dad and Brother have a combined 70+ models.

This X-mas, I got a 2003 Mini Cooper Model from my cousin, so I am going to take it back. Any ideas on what I should get?

Some of my faves are, BMW 850i, Porsche Carrera, BMW M3.

My brother has a Buick GNX model worth over $500, he bought it on E-bay and the price is only going up for it. he has 2 others of the same make and they are Buicks as well, they are also around the $2-300 range. I think he should sell them now.

My best is an AutoArt Subaru Impreza 22B. Sweetest blue particle steel and painted plastic I've yet seen. AutoArt makes awesome stuff. I came across their catalogue and plan on dropping more $50 bills off somewhere soon...

i must have well over 100, from 1/18s to 1/43s, including one 1/10 scale car (Maisto's XJ220), and 3 1/10 bikes

i can't even remember them all!

my favorites include Valentino Rossi's 01 spec NSR500 (and soon to be matched to an 02' RC211V), my 1/43 Ebbro Integra Type-R, my 1/18 Autoart Skyline R34 (the purple one, too!) and my cheapo but good-o Maisto Audi R8, 2001 Le Mans winner.

i'm getting some more this weekend, i've got a few hundred bucks to spend.

HAHA, i hear ya, i got some to spend also, 360 to be exact, no good model shops anywhere around here though, the best in KB and they only have like 5. there is one about 25 miles away but its not near anywhere i usually go. and not having a license i cant go there.

I think AutoArt are the best in scale model cars, second is maybe Maisto then Bugaro.

So do I (but don't tell my boss):D. I bought an AutoArt Skyline a few months ago for $50 and it promptly broke. Since then, I've learned to be content with the cheaper Maisto models that aren't as accurate, but are better-made.

Well, Masto cars don't seem really plasticy...they use rubber for the seats and stuff.

Burago is really plasticy to me...I'm not fond of thier cars.

I asked my mom if we could go to Toys R Us sometime this week, so I'll probably be getting a car or 2, if they have any that I want to get.

Speaking of stores, does anyone know of a good shop in the NYC area? I'm too impatient to wait for major auto shows....

Exoticar, on 48th and park, if you go to Penn station just take to E train to 53rd and 5th then just walk:D

I got 2 models today, both 1/24th scale Motor Max.
A red RX-7 RS, and a 1989 Miata...only problem is with the Miata...you see it's got the current Mazda emblem on the front...but my 1/18th scale Gate Miata also has it...some sort of odd error.
They were only $6.99 each at KB toys.

Lamborghini Mucielago I got for Christmas.
I have a Ferrari 250 GTO, Ferrari F50, Porsche 996 Carrera Converiable, BMW LMP, Ford Mustang MK3(1993), Porsche Speedster, Jaguar XJ220 Road Car, 1995 Dodge VIper RT/10.

Well, after looking over my 2 new buys, Motor Max is pretty poor. The RX-7 has a full back seat with console, the real cars never had that at all. Also some other stuff points out the cheapness about the models. But, they were a good price so ohh well.

just to show you a couple pics of my Sauber:D

does anything work on it? Like suspension or shifting or anything?

Looks amazing!!

the carbon fiber weave doesn't look all that realistic... dissapointing, especially for an Exoto model.

got myself an Autoart 1:18 scale Impreza WRC, Monte Carlo 2002 winner (Makinen's) and a 1:18 Corolla WRC (Sainz, Spain 1998) also by Autoart. I'm sure they'll look good aside my AA Lancer EVO VI WRC ( Makinen, Monte Carlo 2000) and my UT Escort Cosworth RS.

Yeah, suspension all four corners work, and steering is actually like a large ratio not half turn like maisto or other cheaper models. shifter moves back and forth all he way to the gearbox, Tires are actually hard compound slicks, feels so real.

Punk, if your looking at the fully wired and plummed engine with woven metal hoses and brake fluid container half filled, with very DOT looking "fluid", im pretty sure you wont be lookin at the barely-off fibre weave.

everything you could actually see on the real thing you can see in this model.

My next buy is going to either be the Kyosho RX-7, or one of the official Mazda models(either the RX-8, Atenza, or they have Spec Miata racers), if I can deciefer the Japanese site, and if they are willing to send it to me.

Ohh, forgot to mention, my dad has a 1/49th scale(I think) 787B model in a plastic case that he got after the MazdaSpeed Protege Zoom Zone event(free!!). I forgot who makes it, and I donno where he has it...he was being a pisser and wouldn't put it out on display on a shelf, so I think it's ontop of his dresser or somewhere I shouldn't bother...

i have the Kyosho RX7, it's great! mine is red, i think it's the only color it comes in, too.

i'm looking for a white RZ, like the one in GT3... that'd look nice aside this one. maybe the Japanese imports have something like that.

How much did the RX cost you Punk? I know that it's $49.99 on Exoticar(plus shipping)...

Ohh, and I looked on the Japanese Mazda site, the models are 1/43 scale, so I'm not gonna bother getting one...

I'm still searching for 1/18 scale cars though.

You can get Kyosho from thier web site or from other places. Exoticar.com has all of them too.

Kyosho is awsome stuff, I have the Kyosho Lotus Europa.
They have metal frames, super detailing(underhood stickers and all), and inside they have carpeting and it's really detailed. No suspension though.
