Racing with MasterGT in Monday Night Racing league has been a great experience for me. When I joined MNR I was very new on Gran Turismo (pandemic entry) and participating in this league has tought me many things like: controlling throttle and break (we race without TC available), racing clean avoiding damage, learning the track, learning about setups, etc. When I first joined frankly it was a littlebit frustrating, I had trouble keeping up and overdriving lead to unforgiving damage. However sticking with it, accepting guidance from MasterGT and other drivers and a littlebit of practise has resulted in me being competitive with most of the drivers in our league. Now it comes down to setting up the car and practise before we start, to keep up witht the front of the field. MasterGT is so kind to share his setups in advance which helps a lot for drivers who do not have much experience with this. I still mostly use his setups. Come join us if want a league with clean drivers, become a better driver, challenging cars and lots of fun!

Thank you for the kind words, Skippy!

More often than not we are chasing you, now. It has been very satisfying to see how much you have improved since joining us.

Do you want to challenge yourself?

Are Corvettes one of your favourite cars?

Look for us today for a full night of racing.
It was a good learning experience. I learned that I needed to tune my cars better.

Getting lapped twice by Skippy was humbling. SO MANY MISTAKES.

Thank you for setting these up. I don't mind losing to top-ranked drivers.

Last night was excellent, got lapped in every race lol, but finally managed a 6th in the 4th race and not last, so progression.

A long time MNR driver, SJTJCloudRacer, has some encouraging words for those of you who may be wondering if you should join us Monday nights:

During my decades of gaming, certain milestones have occurred enriching my experiences. The first was 'PONG' that started my video gaming.

Becoming a moderator in the now defunct PS 'Communities' I learned people care about their experiences.

An individual by the name of MasterGT offered me an invitation to a lobby entitled Monday Night Racing that he had been hosting for a decade. Clean racing, inspired conversations on many topics, how to improve driving skills, tuning, posted setups with an all around idea of having FUN.

It is now my honor to invite all who share these goals to join us on Monday nights @ 7:30pm EST, to challenge yourself and, most of all, to have FUN.

Thank you, CloudRacer!

Enthusiasm, drive and repetition will help you to improve. Stick with us and you will be rewarded.

The best choice I made was joining MNR's, I've played every iteration of this game since '98(I am that old lol) and have always used AT's, the choice of legendary cars and road cars etc that u pick and the advice you've given gave me the confidence to try MT's, it's so so hard because I'm set in my ways(can't teach an old dog new tricks lol) but baby steps. I even use spectator mode so I can watch the in car mode to watch how or when players shift... Massive thanks to all the players for their patience and MasterGT's blind eye to my occasional verbal diarrhoea lol.

A third link to driver guidance has been added to the links at the bottom of the top post.

The page has a very good description of how to deal with passing and earning positions, but this time the content's POV is mostly from the standpoint of driver attitude, emotions and racing philosophy even if it isn't prominently described that way. (Unfortunately, quite a few of the video links don't work anymore, but the descriptions are clear.)

It also supports the philosophy behind our Monday Night Racing events well and why our challenging races are set up with reasonable tires, Heavy Damage, the Strongest Penalties, and standing starts, etc.

GT on its own can only do so much to encourage drivers to self-regulate and keep everyone safe. The rest is up to us. If you haven't read the three linked pages before, please do so now. Each one supports the other and, if followed, will save everyone on the track a lot of grief or regrets.

If you want to race with other conscientious drivers, please join us Monday nights.

Love those links, I'm sure most of us have raced the dailys which if ur unlucky are a great example of how not to race fairly, I'm sure some racers think it's an arcade.
Saying that I am guilty of letting my emotions override sense sometimes it'sonly human, it's all a learning curve sometimes a steep one!.

For the past two weeks, an average of more than 150 people read our thread per day!

We would love to have you help to fill up the lobby each week. Why not join us for a few races, to see what our races are like?

The lobbies are designed to help drivers improve their skills in a safe, organised but challenging environment. There is a variety of drivers, from those who are new to on-line racing, to those who we all have to chase. You will fit right in.

Everybody drives the same car each week, so there are no tricks being played on you. The races are designed to be as fair as GT settings allow. Because tuning is recommended (within limits), your garage will expand and improve over time. We don't ignore any car or track, so your GT skills and knowledge will deepen, too.

But the main advantage of racing with us is that we will help you to become a better driver, either indirectly by challenging you through reasonable limits or by helping you directly with specific problems. Repetition is used as a tool to reinforce what you learn and to give you a second chance to improve your skills.

Are you one of the 150 per day who are curious about racing with us? Will we see you tomorrow night?

I'm coming back to try again this week. Going to try to do most without assists.

The brief amount of time I spent successfully getting feedback this week was helpful. I got in my own way Tuesday night.

I softened my brake pedal so I can use all of it and am learning to lift completely during hard braking where no rotation is needed. Thanks for allowing me to practice!

Monday Night Racing was created to help drivers get up to speed with techniques that work. Driver enthusiasm to improve helps, of course.

Let's have some fun tonight.
