Motion steering - Are you competitive?

Hi all. Some question for those of you playing with DS4 + motion steering.

I actually use DS4 and left stick, trying to improve but with some problem in the last days: in sport mode I'm not really competitive, no more poles & no more wins (not even close), other players are far better than me (B/S). So yesterday after 5-6 qualifying laps in Tsukuba with E30 and left stick I decided to try the motion steering; after 40+ laps I was yet 0,5s over my PB with left stick, too many spins, poor consinstence.

I just want to know if it's worth insisting and improving with motion steering.

1) Some of you are really competitive and better than before with the stick?
2) You succedeed to become A/S or so?
3) Controller sensitivity (tried 0 3 and 5, peraphs better 5 for me)?

Thank you

Marco

Used motion controls before i got my wheel. It did take 3 weeks to get used with MC after ive used the sticks for some months. After those 3 weeks i was about 0.5-1 sec faster per lap with motion control. I used sensitivity at 1 for very smooth steering

Am really competitive with motion steering. S/S (before a frustrating reset). Can often get Top 50 qualifying times in cars I like. I think my sensitivity is about 2, didn't take too long to get used to. Just use the driving school missions to help you

Way easier to hold a steering angle with motion steering

Yeah, I have been able to hold my own at ~40-45k DR points with motion control, and it definitely improved me over using the stick.

What is motion control steering. You guys using the DS4, do you use the DS4 by choice or would you rather use a wheel??

I would rather use a wheel+pedal set to be honest, but as the PS4 is mostly taken by son, I only play occasionally, so DS4 motion control is fine for me.
The only thing is holding up the DS4 in the air for as long as a race C lasts, well, it can make shoulder muscles feel quite busy :)

I did try it, but can't drive in any other view then interior... Simply I need to see my ingame steering wheel to be able to drive car :)

Was good feeling before they changed something in how it responds to current location of your hads, donno if they fixed that...

No. Im not paying £200-£300 to buy a wheel for any game. Could make better use for £300 and buy a ps pro.

Agreed they can be expensive but over time when you look back it's not that expensive in reality.
I bought a second hand t500 rs for playing GT5 and a wheel stand pro second hand also for less than £350 all in and this was years ago.
When I think about how many hours of time I have spent playing GT5, GT6, Asseto Corsa, Dirt rally, etc it must be 1000s of hours of use,
It's like ive payed pennies (not pounds) per hour of wheel use.

That depends on how much you are willing to spend on stuff, what your ideals are? I just don't think I would spend that much on something that has only one purpose for me. I agree with what you say. If you get your moneys worth out of it, then its a good buy.

I have spent more on stuff used less. I just work a little harder sometimes to earn "fun money" so that's how I justify it, doesn't come out of regular earnings. It also depends on how you look at it, it's all relative, compared to racing IRL this is less than pennies.
