Motorsport Elise+R2 Trick

I was racing in the Tuning Grand Prix on Apricot Hill Reverse. I was up against a competitive, yet bad-handling RUF BTR. That was my main competitor, k?

I was desperately trying to gain the lead for some weird, twisted reason in the first lap. I remembered the ever-so-useful R2 trick to get a bit more accel. outta your cars. Well.

I noticed a drastic increase in accel. rate when I pressed R2. Surprisingly enough, I managed to out-accelerate, out-speed, and out-sexy the RUF right before the last little turn. I kept my lead. Awesome. Beat him by an outstanding 1.2xx 'cause I spinned out.

Comments? Is there a better one to use R2?

I just think he was using manual , but he didnt know how to change gears so he is just staying in first gear. Until...he discovered that R2 shifts up :dopey:

The only instance of an increase in speed/lap-time via the shift delayer/R2 would be one such as:

You hold R2, and the few seconds that remain towards the finish or end of the straight are used to drive through the redline as opposed to shifting to the next gear and suffering the temporary shift-lag in which the car is rolling for .50-200m/s without input from acceleration.

But then again, I barely know what I'm talking about.

The "drastic increase in acceleration" certainly sounds like NOS.

Maybe buttons have been reassigned so that R2 is NOS. I myself have done that because I just prefer shifting with L1/R1.

If he were in the Opel Speedster then it would make sense, because it makes most of its power after redline. Don't know about the MSE though.

It was no NOS. The Elise was completely stock, in Auto trannsmission. I hate Manual in races with too much up and down shifting.

And YES it WAS R2 not R1 for NOS.
