I'm sure we've all heard "Racing is not a sport." or "All they do is drive a car." at least once. I want to know what your guys' take on this. Is Motorsport/racing a sport? Where does it stack up with other "mainstream" sports? Are different forms of Motorsport harder than others? If so, why?

Did you say drag racing?

Motor racing is a sort of a sport, requiring a sort of athleticism. But it is more than just that.

At the age of 63, I was winning kart races and season championships against far younger and maybe fitter opponents. The reason is mental and emotional control, not just physical control.

That plus the technical factors of vehicle setup and preparation in the spec engine and weight class I was running.
