If anyone is looking for a different type of movie to watch, let me say that this is the movie to see. And anyone that even vaguely enjoyed 'Shakespeare in Love' (Shame on all of you that haven't seen that!) should RUN, not walk to the video store to see this.
The best way to describe this movie, is complete sensory assault, and nothing less. With a fantastic story, amazingly blended musical genres, excellent cinematography, and one of the tightest scripts I have seen (You won't find yourself saying: "You know, I really wish they had...")
While this movie may not be for everyone (ie. people that can't believe that Jean Claude Van Dam and Stephen Segal aren't box office draws anymore :P)
And if after you see the movie you don't think that a hairy, muscular Argentinian sings the best version of 'Roxanne' ever, I'll be very dissapointed. :(

And let me add that I'm glad that this topic serves as my 2000th post, so everyone party like it's 1999!!!

Heh heh heh!

Congrats on the 2000 posts man.

And I agree with you on Moulin Rouge. It's really good. I loved the cameos in it (anyone spot Kylie Minogue?), and the way all the song lyrics are plucked and tucked together. A very impressive piece of writing.

Went to the cinema expecting to hate it, ended up loving it. 9/10
