Moving Servers - ALL visitors please read! (delayed)

It's time for GTPlanet to move to its new home! I will begin transferring the website and forums to my dedicated server over the next few hours. During this time, the forums will be closed for new posts and member registrations. Once everything is in place on the new machine, you will be directed to the new forums, where you should (if all goes well) find everything in perfect working order.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but it's necessary to prevent the latest posts from being left out and disappearing after the move. Please wish me luck; if everything goes smoothly, all traffic will be routed to the new server by Christmas Day. :)

Well, it's been pretty rough so far...I might not get the site moved until tomorrow (Sunday). :( Thanks for your support. :)

good luck Jordan.... I hope this will work cuz I heard the WE ARE MOVING SERVERS AND WE WILL BE BACK TOMORROW before and the site never came back ..... uh.. or at least it took him 2 months ... so GOOD LUCK :D
 
well it is now monday (christmas eve) and still nithing, u must be busy with christmas, good luck and don't ruin your holidays just to do this, we can all wait. ;)

Keep in mind JohnnyBravo is absolutely right! Don't ruin your own holiday trying to get it done. All the loyal GTPlanet fans will undoubtedly return in their numbers once we're up on the new server WHENEVER it happens!
One more thing: Just from one voice in the crowd, thank you for providing such a user-friendly, fun, QUALITY forum. This really is a well-designed and maintained board and even in just the short time I've been a member I've seen improvements & upgrades made to make it even better!
So, a big thank you to Jordan, and wishing you all a Merry Christmas!
 
yeah, good luck with the move - but enjoy your Xmas. Lets be honest i dont think too many people will be wanting to use the site then anyway. Hope it all runs smoothly and we will continue to recieve the quality that we are now... :D
 
Well, thanks for your support, guys. :) I'm still having problems with the new server, and in order not to ruin my Christmas, I'm going to stop working on it for now. Unfortunately, it will cost me (I'm going to have to pay my old, current host for another month), but this time comes only once a year and I want to enjoy it to the fullest.

As I'm sure you've just noticed, I've removed the warning message from the top of the forums. However, we are still not using the site on the new server. I am experiencing so many problems right now with billing and technical difficulties, it looks like it could still be a few more weeks before we're moved over. :(
 
Hey Jordan, last night I got the Bandwidth Limit Exceeded Error again, it was around midnight est i think.
 
I had it most of the day UK time here too, cleared about 16:00GMT.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I've been in work all day trying to do a server swap-out myself, and it's not going well!

Yeah, I got that too. Kind of funny, really, considering I got slapped in an email from my host with a $90.00 bill for bandwidth at about the same time that message started showing up. :rolleyes: :mad:
