He's a laugh a minute that guy. Remember the March release gag he pulled. How my intestines doubled over with laughter.

I would say from videos we have seen that the AI do give the player a run for their money. So regardless of whether this story is a joke or not, it is at least in part, true.

I would say that the AI in GT5:P is certainly a nice improvement over GT4, so the same level of improvement leading into GT5 would be welcomed.

I agree, there's a video of a guy driving the SLS AMG in S2 tires in the nurburging, he drove very decently and the AI was faster than him, so what Kaz said might be true.

Regarding, "doing AI less-robotic", I think everyone means a dynamic behaviour, if you anticipate the proper braking spot and hit the brakes earlier, the AI comes at full speed and smash the rear of your car, and when you're going back to the track after spun out, they hit you, a dynamic behaviour would mean a smarter AI which reduces speed when it sees a car going back to the track, and go around it, simple and easy, or keep at least two meters of distance and calculates the chance to hit the apex of a corner to overtake safely and without touching you. This would be a dream.

Faster =/= more human-like

to be honest, I've seen a great improvement from GT4's AI, but it's far from anything regarding human behavior.

SuperGT should be bumper cars if the AI is to be human-like.

What about this: (posted on the news page, shortly after being posted in the Latest News thread)

"Three Sisstersss"

EDIT: And this, via "related"

Seems like they've been trying to get it to work, hopefully they'll be able to fine tune it!

In the first video (from mimaximax), I think that mimaximax himself drove the car that passed the Lexus. Afterwards, he just played the replay using the Lexus.

As for the second video, I'm not sure, but I think it's the same thing.

Yes, but notice the Lexus moves over as the Evo zooms past? The C4 in front stays bang in the middle of the track. Maybe 28s is a bit too late to tune in.

The second vid (whilst obviously rare ) clearly shows AI reacting to another car - judging by the way it came off the circuit, I'd say it was the player driving it.

Wait, wait, AI "works" when compared to GT4 AI, because the AI driver on the red car just stopped to allow the player to recover, and he didn't have to do that, he was supposed to go around the player's car and overtake it, not to completely stop and watch him go back to the track, this is racing, not city traffic. ;)

The red car is a F430. :ouch: The video quality is poor and I didn't recognize it at a first glance.

I did notice how the Lexus moved a bit, but didn't pay too much attention to that. The same for the second vid.

Don't know, but we all hope AI's gonna be better. Singleplaying can also be interesting, but AI destroys the fun so many times.

Or

GT5 is 90% done, we can release it whenever we want... (He told it early 09 if I remember correctly, or at E3??)

You must be mistaken. At TGS time, he said about 65%. It was about January of 2010 when he said it was about 90% complete, the same month the official cover was release. March release in Japan seem so probably after these two events. And now they delay it.

I've seen certain cars go off track at Fuji, in Prologue, seems to be the Tuned Suzuki car half the time, and then wait by the side until a gap in the traffic shows to reenter the track

not many AI in games are that nice :)

Dont forget sooner than you think and Expect Perfection about damage words.

this thread must be re named as Kazunori Jokes.

kaz is not joking !!! you guys really dont see the difference in the gameplay's ... the full GT5 is 5 times more realistic from the prologue , the grass , trees , cars ....
all the environment looks better !!!!
