Mugen Motorsports (M-TEC Co., Ltd) (無限) is a Japanese company formed in 1973 by Hirotoshi Honda, the son of Honda Motor Company founder Soichiro Honda, and Masao Kimura. Mugen, meaning "Without Limit", or "Unlimited", (hence the commonly placed word "Power" after, denoting "Unlimited Power") is an engine tuner and parts manufacturer closely associated with the Honda Motor Company. Despite the family connections, however, Mugen is not, and has never been, owned by Honda Motor Company.

The Honda S2000 represented the company's new-age car and although the people were linking it to an oversized go-kart, it possessed plenty of performance. Even though the stock Honda S2000 had much performance, there was much room for improvements. Mugen, a company that specializes in Honda tuning and motorsports, created its own rendition of the two-seat roadster that showed just how much potential this car had.

Mugen refined the car's exhaust system, by making its 4-2-1 type to improve performance in the 6000 rpm - 8000 rpm range. On the intake side, it installed its own intake box made of lightweight carbon-fiber. These changes drastically improved the engine's breathing, making it more efficient and improving power. For the suspension system, Mugen installed special adjustable shocks to improve cornering and decrease body roll.

Deserving special mention was the car's improved aerodynamics that came by way of Mugen's flashy body kit. In wind tunnel tests, the S2000 minimized air resistance while producing an evenly-balanced downforce between the front and rear ends, thus ensuring good grip for all four tires and exceptional high-speed stability. Many of the S2000's body panels, such as the hood and hard top, were made of carbon-fiber.

The Mugen S2000 shined everywhere it went, whether that was cruising the streets of Tokyo or attacking a local race circuit. Indeed the Mugen S2000 was a truly improved version of a sports car that was already quite excellent to begin with.
