Sport mode is crap and will always be crap until they ditch the stupid sprint races with damage off. Lobbies are broken and have been written by a dev with the cognitive abilities of month-old roadkill. You will spend an hour joining lobbies, finding It's already in a race or the host quits just as you hit the track, before you get to actually drive. Then you'll get punted out in turn 1 by an E SR driver, because the headshot victim dev decided to remove the ability to limit by SR too.

I wonder if I could donate some spare brains from my left butt cheek to PD? It's bound to double their collective intelligence.

+1 for organized lobby racing. Just find a decent community to race with :)

I felt this bro 🤣🤣🤣🤣 it’s hard as hell to find consistent players and lobbies

Truth have been spoken!

It's not like decent racing is hard to find...

Yes, decent racing IS hard to find.

No player should need to go to a private forum and search for where and when to play the game.

Online has been around long enough to have a built in system.

People talking like we should be happy to have to come to this forum to find a race.
No, but it's the easiest way to find people who want to actually race and not just win or mess with people :dunce:
For proper organized racing you'd need to find a community of some sort no matter what game you play.
Why are you so negative? Seems like coming here is a chore for you?

And it isn't?

So, before I sit down to take the weight of a hard day off my shoulders, I should go to this forum, search for people (or join some league) and wait for their scheduled time, instead of sitting down and joining a race.... Like I have been since 2008.

Ok, so why buy a new game (aside from being forced to by having the servers shut down)? The lobbies in Gt5 had all the features needed.

Joining a league or searching the forum is fine for some, but it's 2022 and having in game online events (other than the dailies) should be a given.

It can be completely automated. It's what the Meeting Place feature should do.

Had our Michelin Pilot sport GT4 opener last night and it was a rocky start but once we got it going the two 40 min races were A1. Still GT7 online lobbies functions are lacking bad and need to be worked out asap! What I will say once you get past all the annoying set up the actual online racing is better than GTS… GTS online function were just a lot more polished.

I'm genuinely curious. How do you come to that conclusion? GT7 online are inferior to GTS IN EVERY SINGLE CONCEIVABLE PERCEIVABLE PERCEPTIBLE MEASURABLE WAY.

It's a remarkable achievement of total incompetence.

Not the actual racing… did you not read what I wrote?

Yeah, it's quite difficult to find a smooth steady, non-dirty pack of drivers unless you set the lobby with the level, (E-A+). It's best to just race for fun or just run practice laps with your friends, that's good for teaching people the skills of driving and mastering techniques.

ok read all that up there .............few questions please -

  1. why are there lobby s with 1 or 2 people in .........why not more users ? ................this is the biggest driving game out there ??
  2. i get connected real quick but other cars often run erratic looking - ive only ever tried ps5 wreckfest which runs as smooth as a babies bum ?

The short answer is that the lobbies have been MASSIVELY diminished with each iteration. This time around, the host can't even change track.

Also, the disconnects are more prevalent. In GTSport, they changed the PP system for the 'N class" system which left things grossly imbalanced, so that diminished the lobbies somewhat. When we all hoped for a return of PP racing, many were disappointed to find themselves kicked out of the race before it started.

There are simply so many issues that many have thrown up their hands and walked away. PD don't seem to care about it.

any idea why these rooms are empty ?
💩 design by PD.
They are unable to make a simple matchmaking like they do for Sport mode. They thought user created lobbies would be a good idea.
At least give us a choice between user created and matchmaking, no? No, apparently. This is so infuriating that my head hurts.

yes - id find races/rooms set up for lets say historic racing mini/beetle/porsche etc great - with upgrades allowed - we`d still have to go through the standard procession type races to earn credits to upgrade your cars - might the lobby's be improved soon as the game is still new ?

can we look forward to improvements in this area in the future ?

I have finally arrived to the conclusion that they don't want us in the lobbies. They make them the worst possible experience on purpose. The reason I don't know. Maybe they want to promote Sport, maybe they can't handle the bandwidth or server requirement, or who knows.

I'm in 3 different leagues already but those are once a week. Sometimes on other days I just fancy a quick race.

Yes, the need to address lack of lobby options- which they have addressed.

My league does similar one night races. We still have rooms up almost every night for races. You may need to branch out more then. I have freinds still from GT5 that I race with
