Is there a way to just delete duplicate museum cards instead of using the "give to friend" option?

I think you can... I'm not sure, but if I remember right, there was an option to delete, last time I checked.

Unfortunately, not. My pet hate...

Mine too, especially when I can't even get the car ticket from the seasonal events because I have too many items. Deleting paints/suits/helmets is easy, but it gets irritating when those get replaced with 10 museum cards every day.

If you have 50 of lets say Ford # 1 cards they only count as 1 item. No matter how many of each card you have the count remains one each card #. Once you have all the museum cards your total count of cards will not increase.

Hard to believe, but will check it in few days, 'coz constantly having problems with this too many items.
Pretty sure at it will count those on same area.

Hopefully that newest maintenance gives us option to delete those or removes that limit of items.

No it doesn't count on item limit, that's confirmed couple times here 👍

Museum cards do count as Items but only 1 item per Museum card duplicates dont count as extra's. I know this is true as I have given away Museum cards (No delete option is bulls**t by PD) in order to recive an item. Ive had a full items list for many months & have used this method numerous times.
