Music CD help

Hi,I just burnt some music onto a blank disc using windows media and for some reason it won't play on my CD player.
I used WLM player,OS windows 7.
I just don't understand so any help would be great.


EDITroblem solved WMP has let me do it and the CD works!
It was very simple in the end,make sure of the settings.
It was setting my playlist that was annoying it wouldn't let me do it yesterday.
I set the speed to x8 audio CD and it works thanks for everyone's help.

You know, a common mistake I've made, is that I used a CD-RW disc, as they will not play in a CD-player.

So please answer these; are you using CD-R's, does it play in your computer and have you tried burning using a different burner program, like Nero etc.?

CD-R is what I've used,maybe a setting or something in windows live media player needs changing?

Before you get too involved in burning cd's make sure your CD player will read them. I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota truck that will not play any burnt cd's. Will the cd play on the PC? If so try it in other players, the PS3 will play them.

Also check your writing speed, you don't want to burn it too fast if you want it to last longer without issues. Somewhere around 16X, 12X or 8X is usually good for music CDs, 4X and slower speeds might produce uncertain results with some CD players.

And make sure you're burning an audio CD, not just burning files onto a data CD (although many CD players will read those, too.)

Also, try it in other players. Maybe it's not your burner, your discs, or your format, but the player itself.

So which CD player exactly are you using ? A few will not play burnt audio CD's though most newer ones do.
