I listen to Slayer when I got to sleep.

I thought I was the only one who did this....

When I try to sleep I listen to REALLY heavy stuff. Most of the time though I'll listen to Iron Maiden's synthesized albums, or early Boston.

If I'm just haning with my buddies we will listen to anything but when we go to our man cave and chill with a drink and just talk we listent to slower rock, like Rooster by Alice in Chains and War Pigs by Black Sabbath.

I tend to listen to Pink Floyd, it relaxes me.

I guess you could say it makes you,
*Puts on sunglasses*
Comfortably Numb....

YEAHHHHH!!!!!!

I have the discography, I agree with you, most of it's very relaxing.

When I have high stress I'll take some cough syrup and lay down in my dark room and put some Heavy Psych.

That riff.... Oh man. That riff solves problems.

And this one has always been a good one to zone out too.

For chill music I listen to some of the slower Pearl Jam and some of Eddie Vedder's solo stuff when I'm more in the "rock" mood. But if I'm going for all out chill I listen to artist like Melody Gardot, Emilie-Claire Barow (for that Frenchy goodness) Norah Jones, Jamie Cullum and other jazz vocalist. There's nothing better then some good jazz (not smooth jazz) to chill out too.

When I'm at work and trying to get some stuff done I typically go more orchestral or just pure piano music. My favourite pianist is Ludovico Einaudi without a doubt, he's amazingly talented. I'm sure some of you might know his music too, it's been featured on Top Gear a few times.

I'm also partial to listening to the London Philharmonic's play various works too, The Planets and Fanfare for the Common Man are two that I really like.

I highly suggest you listen to Deadmau5 - Jaded (Original Mix)

Plug in your headphones, turn off the lights, lay down, close your eyes, and hit the play button. It is a beautiful song that I could listen to on repeat forever. I feel at peace when I listen to it. And almost like I am flying too.

Two other great Deadmau5 songs to chill out too are I Remember (my favorite) and Faxing Berlin.

One of the songs I've been listening to alot lately when I just chill out is called Wasting Love by Iron Maiden. Fantastic power ballad by my favorite group. Even though it's not their strongest song musically or for quality (come on it was recorded in a barn haha), it's still very well written and I thoroughly enjoy listening to it. If only I could tell the band themselves how I feel about them...still pissed I missed that opportunity.

Holy crap, I already knew four of these songs!!! :dopey:

Anything by Nujabes, Nomak, and Blazo is great to chill out to also.

But I recently got hooked on another song. It's actually a remix by Diplo and Lunice of Deerhunter's Helicopter. It's just so... I can't describe it. That's how awesome it is. :)

Deerhunter- Helicopter (Diplo and Lunice Remix)
Nomak- Wind Beat
Blazo- Rebirth

That's just a few. :D

Generally anything by Dean Martin is a safe bet. But recently I've really got attached to this song if I want to chill.

To me, chilling music should be of a slightly slower tempo and silky smooth, like the musical equivalent of obscenely expensive pajamas. :)

3 Fine Specimens:

Dire Straits - Your Latest Trick

Chris Isaak - Wicked Game

BTO - Lookin' Out For #1
