I need some help on improving(or rather fixing) the turn-in capability of the Mustangs, specifically the SVT CR and the Premium GT. Especially the GT, these two are very reluctant to turn sharp as one would want...

On my research here in GT tuning forum, I found that in some tunes for Mach 1's(which have quite similar bad turn-in characteristics) using a stiffer front and a softer back.

How is this right? Isnt stiffening the back would facilitate oversteer?

On my recent testing, using a less grippier tire like from using RS to RMs in the rear, improve some steering response but only to a certain extent.

I see some prospect on manipulating the Toe but I dont know where to start. Tunes point out that more neg. front and more pos. rear would help.

PD absolutely borked the Mustang GT with 65/35 (!) weight distribution. You almost have to tune it like a FWD. Better to put your time and energy into the SVT, which is much better balanced at 57/43.

And it seems that all Miatas, RX7s, 350Zs and Skylines all handle like dreams. A bit of Japanese bias built into this game?

maybe Motor but Im am still happy that there are some muscle cars in the game remeber on of kaz favorite cars is the Ford GT wich he personally owned. Motor city I am having some of the same issues I am gonna check out your tunes.

My garage also has a couple of Mustang '08 tunes. These shouldn't understeer. See link in my signature below.

motor city I am not seeing a tune for 08 mustangs GT or should I use the one from the Mach 1 Tune ?

I think the underlying logic is that you want to prevent weight transfer to the front of a nose-heavy RWD car since that will just make it plow in corners. Instead you want weight transfer off the front and to the back, which is facilitated by using heavier front springs and lighter rear springs.

You are correct. I must not have posted it. I have a stock hp tune and a maxed out tune for this car. I will post them this week and pm to you as well.

Sorry that I directed you there and didn't have it posted.

no problem I look forward to your post

since we are on the subject of mustangs have any of you seen a difference in the 05 standard mustang gt vs the 07 premium mustang Gt. I think the standard is a little lighter ( maybe a stiped down standard mustang vs a premium mustang i dong know just speculating)

Mustang tunes added to my garage. I knew that I had tuned this car. Posted three tunes and a comparison to stock. See my garage link in my signature below.

Actually, me and my friends figured it out. If you soften the dampers, not like you would in a RWD often, it works.

Here's what we got:

F / R
Ride Height: 0 12
Spring rate: 9.9 11.9
D. Extension 2 3
D. Compres. 1 1
A-Roll Bars 1 7

The thought was that why not use the weight of the car to make it turn. Handles great in very corners. Brake bias was set to F:6/R:4. Brake early, accelerate out of the apex fast, it will do you good.
