Mustang speedometer?

I know there is alot of complaining nowadays but, my complaint is a little more trivial. Why does the Mustang's speedo read in kph? It's America's best selling pony car and the last I checked America still uses mph. I know this doesn't bother most but, being Mustang fan I enjoy watching the speedometer move when accelerating. It's been kind-of a thrill since I've been addicted to acceleration videos on youtube. It's just not the same when I see a speedo read kph. Don't get me wrong though, I have no complaints about other nation's cars reading kph, just why the Mustang?

They modeled a Japanese Spec Mustang. That's also why the taillights (inside lights) have been separated from the turn signals (Outside lights) to conform with the Japanese Motor Vehicle Code, instead of American style, where a taillight can legally function as a turn signal as well.

Notice the F430 only lights up the inside taillights under braking, where as the Euro or US spec car would light up both of them.

Funny, cause we don't even have turn signals.

Funny, because my buddy's '05 V6 taillights light the same way. If it was Japanese spec, shouldn't the driver sit on the right?

I don't know why you're buddies Mustang would be like that, but the ones I sold at a Ford dealership had tail-lights that lit up entirely, and blinked as one light when the signal was on. Mustang fans have critisized GT for this before, in fact, I had a great, flame heavy debate about this a while back. Good pictures, lots of links and serious flaming.

The Mustangs they sell in Japan are still imported, and they don't make RHD Mustangs. They have to be modified to meet the Japanese Motor Vehicle inspection which states that "American Style Rear Tail-lights" are not allowed.

Makes sense to me that the easiest thing for PD to do would be to get the real cars they use from as close as possible, and I'm sure that's a local Ford Dealership, that would have their brand new, floor model, imported, mechanically legalized for Japan, Mustang. It's just simple logic. Would also explain the F430's tail-lights.

Spot on, this was discussed over a year ago here also and it came to the same conclusion. Also Best Motoring Japan Touge'd the exact same Japanese spec Mustang and it was exactly the same.

So what your saying is that America only get 4 cars represented in Prologue:indiff:. I mean if they got an American Z06, two Vipers, and a Ford GT, they couldn't get a Mustang while they where at it. Kind-of sad. I hope, for me at least, they change this in GT5. By the way, if this has been discussed before, I'm sorry to bring it back up. I searched but came up empty.
