MV Agusta might be bringing Cagiva back .

Apparently Mv are not bringing Cagiva back in the near future just yet, but Giorgio Girelli has mentioned it.Also it will be selling dual sport/off road bikes only.They also said that Cagiva wouldn't be making sportsbikes for the obvious reason it would compete with Mv Agusta.

Cagiva could make sub-600cc sports bikes and not compete with MV. Surely there would be a market for lightweight, Italian styled fun bikes? Not everyone can afford Ducati or MV, but admire Italian design. With the death of strokers, that market occupied by the Mito and RS250 et al is stuck with Japanese intro bikes. Yeah they look good, but alternatives wouldn't go amiss.

Hopefully we get some new Cagiva trikes. That would be awesome.
