Well, as we finished building a house and a few other houses in the street are being built, materials are easy to come by. We always wanted to upgrade the cockpit, but we were too lazy/couldnt be arsed to buy/find materials. But just like when we built the cockpit (march 2005) we are/were building a house, so we can just get off-cuts and bolts that are left on the ground 💡
So with all the materials needed within 100m, dad and I headed over the building site once the workers knocked off to find some off cuts and bolts lying around.
Just as when we built the cockpit we had no plans, only and idea, a few tools and some off cut wood.
Here is the result of 1 - 2hours of steady construction (we werent in any hurry).
Before....
After...
Wonderful little idea I came up with, and with help from dad Executed to keep the cords away from our feet.
Just as before, its easily able to swap between PS2 and PC, by simply shifting the monitor/TV and plugging the USB from PS2 into the PC.
So this is our handywork, the cockpit is still very light and very strong.
Next mod, is to sand and varnish it, and hopefully find another seat cover
Im very very happy with the results, as the cords are out of the way and the PC monitor is nice and close and easy to see. Definetly feel much more immersed (sp).
