I have the Canon PowerShot A60. It takes 4 AA batteries. I've gone through 8 in the last couple of days, so I went out and bought some NiMH rechargable's from Radio Shack (Radio Shack brand batteries). I use them in my wirelss mouse and they don't last very long, so they probably won't in my camera either. Do any of you recommend a certain brand and type of rechargable battery? Or am I just out of luck?

Another question of mine is, does anyone make an power adapter that plugs into the camera and the cigarette outlet like an adapter for a portable CD player does? Cuz me and my friend have started to take the camera with us and shoot really crappy cars, or funny stuff, and the battery dies pretty fast :( Thanks.

I've got no idea why companies like Canon use AA batteries. My Olympus Stylus 300 uses a lithum-ion battery it lasts quite long.

But sorry I cant help you.

Buy some larger capacity batteries. You can get rechargeable 2100 mAh AA batteries at http://www.greenbatteries.com/

I've seen 1900 mAh rechargeables at Wal-Mart and stores like that. You can go to a photography store and most likely pick up some super-high capacity rechargeables.

The higher the mAh the better. The Radio Shack ones you bought are probably less than 1300 mAh.

Whoa! This is an old topic, I've forgotten about it actually :embarrassed:

Yeah I actually got a Panasonic Quick Charger that came with 1950 mAh NiMH, and got some spare 1850 mAh batteries, so the problem is now solved! :)
