Not not sure if this is the done thing, but I was wondering if someone might be able to critique my driving skills please. The only reason I ask is that at the beginning of this week I managed to get to Cat C on driver rating which I was really pleased with, within a week I'm back down to mid/low D. I'm using a controller on motion settings, TCS 2, brake -2 and auto transmission (I know that can hinder me)

The example I've posted is the first time I've broadcast a video (didn't realise it could be done) so apologies if it's not great. It the first pole I've had as well which I was pleased about.

Thanks

Are your fingers and thumbs made of gherkins????

It looks like the motion control isn't doing you any favors. Maybe you should try the sticks or D-pad.

Just looks like inexperience and excitement to me.
Not using all the track, inconsistent braking/turn-in points, and that will come with general practice and practicing/learning specific tracks.
Lot's of the mistakes were with cars close (them gaining on you - or you gaining on them), so, you probably got excited/greedy trying to make a bunch of time all in one spot, rather than staying focused on braking/turn-in points, staying on track and letting the time come to you.

Your transition from full lock on steering to centre is not smooth at all, e.g. at 1:48 I am watching the red steering indicator on the HUD (above the revs indicator) and it is going almost instantly from full lock to centre. This means you need to learn where full lock is, i.e. how much you tilt the controller to get to full lock (you can try watching the steering indicator out of the corner of your eye whilst driving or just watch replays), so that you don't tilt the controller past this point, and smoothly return the controller to neutral position as you exit corners.

Also I think a good practise is to remove all braking markers (including cones) and learn braking points relative to features on the track, e.g. the boards on the side of the track which count 150 - 100 - 50 (forgot their name) and kerbs.

Thanks cleanLX, i will admit I do get a bit 'panicky' and i loose time!

didn't realise that with the full lock - although admittedly I don't really watch it due to trying to concentrate on other things lol. I'll give it a shot without the braking markers.
