Have you ever heard of purgutory when you're looking up at heaven and lookng down at hell. That must of been what it was like for you. Good thing it's fixed though. You might want to talk to someone in a Sony store about it.

Hey OP - The problems you are having with the games crashing is exactly the symptoms i was having before my Blu Ray drive packed in !!

Pat are you saying your PS3 doesnt read any discs? If so your Blu Ray drive has definately packed in !

If you can get the PS3 to "REBUILD THE DATA BASE" you have a chance at getting your console to return to it's former self.

yeh, no blu ray games ore movie's anymore ( just DVD's ). i unplugged my ps3 for all the night and this morning when i tried, i could play again F1 2010 for about +/- 20 min. After winning the race, the car keeps turning around waving with his hands ...
I forced my ps3 to shut down manually. So, will check more in depth this evening.

Pat - i'm afraid to say but you are another victim of the PS3's Blu Ray drive failing !
