My figures don't add up.....

According to my stats, I've killed about 45,000 people in total.

I've also killed 40,000 criminals during my vigilante missions. But it also says I've wasted 28,000 criminals or so.

How can I have killed 40,000 during vigilante missions, but only 28,000 in total?

And I've killed almost 8,000 gang memers.

40,000 killed during vigilante missions plus almost 8,000 gang members plus thousands of cops and innocents bystanders does not 45,000 people make.

Maybe the "criminals" are only some of the people in the vigilante missions, maybe the game might think some of them are innocent bystanders? I dunno, i doubt my theory, especially because all of the people in the cars carry spaz shotguns... Looks like you've stumbled upon another bug in GTA: Vice City...

I've been thinking about it and I think that for those who have done the vigilante missions, they've probably noticed that when you get past level 12, instead of 3 cars of 4 criminals each appearing, sometimes 2 cars appear and another appears in an "impossible" location and instantaneously explodes. Sometimes they don't and you have to chase down criminals in weird locations. Today I did 1675 levels of vigilante and on a couple of occasions I came across a car which was buried half in the wall of building about 50 feet in the air. Normally these guys would just die without you shooting them, but in this instance I had to shoot a car which I could see half of sticking out of a skyscraper. The reason I got caught during the vigilante mission today was because I had to get out of the Hunter and kill a car full of criminals who were buried in the side of a wall underneath a bridge, and a cop caught me trying to get back into my Hunter.

Maybe the "Criminals wasted" stat doesn't count these figures and the "People wasted" stat doesn't count them, but the "Criminals Killed on Vigilante Missions" does?

I don't know. It just seems a bit weird though.
