Here is the model i just made.
I had to replicate a lamp my teacher already made.
It isn't exactly the same as his, but similar.

I'm sorry for the filesize, but i can't seem to get it smaller.

I tried to make the lightbulb, but as you can see it's to dark.
Does anyone know how to fix that?

If you have 3d models you would like to share with the community, please do ;)

That was my second guess. :dopey:

Nice, how long did it take?

I didn't really pay attention, but it has to be somewhere around 2 hours.
Keep in mind that this is my first complete model, so it will go faster in the future.
I'm ordering a new screen next week (24" lcd), so i'll have more space to work on. (currently 17" crt)

good stuff, I did have some of my old work on here, but i dont have a clue where its gone. I did multimedia design at uni, which included 3D and animation. Good fun but I lost interest and became a bum at £d stuff, I used to use Maya.

keep us posted with your work.

you too CF.

I happen to find this on my image shack account. I don't remember why I uploaded it but basically this was around the time shortly after the 5g video iPod came out and people were speculating what the next gen would be.

Was done in rhino and solidworks I think.

the texture map on the wall need some work. Try rendering the image with a STANDARD material white,

if you want you can e-mail me your scene and I can "hook it up" for you and return it so you can learn a few tricks.

this is one of my renders, I was designing a shift knob:

Me and my buddy Alex used to do these all the time.

All done in 3DS Max.

Oh my, I was wondering if anyone on this site was interested in 3d modeling. I see some nice works here :)
I do some 3d modeling myself, though I don't use any of the fancy programs, mostly due to a lack of motivation to learn them. I just use a simple little program called Zmodeler 1.07. It is kinda old, but it does everything I need it to do. It was a popular tool back in the days of Need for Speed 4 modeling, which I was a big part of. It is also used to import user made cars into various games such as the PC versions of GTA, NFS:HP2, NFS3:HP, NFS: Porsche Unleashed, and many other games. I'll just post on of my projects though, don't wanna spam someone else's topic :P

This is my newest car, the Kestrel-T:

Rest of my work can be found in the links in my sig.
Maybe I'll start a dedicated 3d modeling topic later aswell...

I also use 3d modeling programs and rendering tools for my university course. I use ProEngineer Wildfire 4.0 and Alias Imagestudio 3 to render.. problem is everything we do is marked!!! so never really have any time to do stuff just for fun...
