Ok so this is my first GT game ever (because a relatively new PS4 owner, xbox360 before that).
I got GTS after lots of thoughts and hesitation due to the bad stuff I was reading/hearing about: mainly the bad physics.
I might say that I've been positively surprised till now after owning the game for 2 weeks.

The physics aren't that bad at all! I have PC2 and AC too, so I have a pretty good standard sims to compare it to.
Maybe not mind-blowing but definitely not bad!
Couple of days ago had a go with the GT3 RS (without TC) on Nordshlife and Wow! It felt very similar to what I remember had in AC and PC2.

On another note, it's a very polished well-made game. Never had any bug till date! Not even one!
I won't say how many I faced in PC2 (and still face) to avoid unnecessary flame wars.

I also, unlike the vast majority, LOVE the campaign/offline mode , as it is now!
I don't want career mode, I can have that in PC2, or to a lower degree AC.
I love the driving schools, the challenges, the guides, the skill tests. Very beneficial and rewarding. Reminds me of "Real Racing 3" (on mobile) campaign mode.
AC and PC2 lack on that side! I don't need single offline AI races as a single player mode! I can always have that! Instead, make me test my skills, learn new stuff and challenge myself.

Online matchmaking is awesome! I mean with the difference in skills, I don't want to be racing against Lewis Hamilton online while I'm a mere human. Let me race with someone close to my skill.

Graphics are awesome.

Not a big fan of photography tho. Never took any screenshot yet, let alone scapes etc...

What I dislike the most tho is FFB! On my G29, the game feels nearly dead.

Oh and I love VR mode on my PS VR.
I wonder why don't they allow it in lots of "single car on track" modes like time-trials, etc. Why only that limiting/stupid VR single lap mode!
Heck, why don't they even go full VR like driveclub! I know it won't look graphically good but I don't care! I prefer immersion! Give us the option at least!

Nice, a point of view of someone without experience of other games of GT series.

Very interesting indeed. And have to agree, specially on the physics side not being bad at all and the FFB being the Achilles heel of the game.

Only tried once with my new wheel, both GTS and AC, the FFB being far better in AC.

I, actually, far prefer the force feedback in GT Sport then PC2. It feels right and how a car feels. In PC2 it is more like a 4x4 going over a very rocky mountain pass.

PC2 only tried the demo (yes, that one lauched 2 months after the game's release) and agree not very good FFB either.

But we have to consider the mess that is the "exclusivity" and so on racing wheels's brands.
Like Georgeagea, I've a G29, which people is struggling to find some nice FFB settings on GT Sport, but works great on default in AC.
I guess for those who use a Thrustmaster, the FFB has a better feeling on GTS.
The original PCars I quit playing a lot of time ago, fed up by the constant bugs.

OP you should try the photography modes, particularly Scapes. Doesn't take much skill to get photorealistic shots......if you just want a static pic. It's one of those features I never touched before photomodes and #PS4Share became a thing. So many of my friends who take a casual interest are hooked.

And yes, it is difficult to go back to other sims when you experience the AAA polish of GT Sport. Given the nature of these games you spend plenty of time navigating menus, set-up's etc., so that slick presentation is more than just superficial.

From what I've read the campaign has had great feedback.....we just need more of it. Putting the driver into scenarios to hit goals is a great idea. What brings it all together for me is the community aspect, first thing I do is check the community wall for latest news and updates. I love Asseto Corsa, but you feel isolated, and with a very long & dull SP campaign (which I completed), you crave that community feedback and interaction. No doubt it's why sites like this are so popular.

Nope, not for me. quite the opposite.

This. FFB is way more informative on PC2 and AC. I can't even make a decent comparison between those two and GTS tbh.

Also, my T300 keeps reseting to 1080º rotation every time I do "retry" or start a race on some cars. I have to go and manually change it to 900º every single time. Is this happening to anyone else?

Welcome to the community!

I’m really pleased to hear you’re enjoying the game. For me, an online racer, the online matchmaking is by far the best in the world of race sims and simcade save for iRacing.

If you want to pick up and play a structured online race when your schedule permits, GT Sport or iRacing are pretty much your only options if you also want drivers sorted by skill and safety rating.

What settings are you running Pc2 with on your T300?
I've a recently acquired G29, bought because (almost) general opinion is more durable and reliable than the Thrustmaster products and also was a very good deal on black friday (amazon.co.uk 129£). Here in the forum the majority of opinions seem to be in the way the T150 and the T300 have a smother FFB and have works best (by default) on GTS than other products.

On the G29, only tried once to check if everything was OK, because don't have a stable support for the wheel yet.
IMHO the FFB is far better on AC. Can't say PCars 2 is better than GT Sport.

Nice post, welcome to GT.

I'm still sorting out my G29 also. You may want to set 'Controller Steering Sensitivity' to 7, it seems to remove the dead spot at the center and make the wheel generally feel better. I didn't realize it affected the wheel and not just controllers until recently.

Couldn't you just send a PM? Your comment is not to the OP, only vaguely on the subject of the OP's thread, and not in the right forum for talking about PC2 settings.

The discussion is in regard to a general comparison between all three, as such I see no harm in a side discussion around an area of that.

Good buy, persoanlly I went for the T300 for the eco-system and FFB system.

Get it set-up and give it a good go with all three titles (hence the reason why I asked about settings), as I've spent a lot of time comparing all three, and both PC2 and AC are ahead of GTS for me.

In terms of FFB yes. I find AC much better than PC2 which is much better than GTS, in terms of FFB.
Pretty much my order as well. With PC2 (and to a degree the original) you can get it dialed in to be close to AC, but AC still just heads the pack for me. GTS is quite a way behind (but seems to be getting better with each patch).

Can only give my opinion on default settings for the wheel. On that the Asseto Corsa seemed to me far better on FFB than GT Sport or Project Cars 2.
On the plus side, in Asseto Corsa I used the Abarth 500 Esse Esse, which is exactly the only car I've driven on track, on a track day :D

I also think the lack of tracks is great, would be so many more demolition derbys with lots of new tracks to learn, bc this is an online racing game, the singel player mode is just so people will learn how to drive and learn the tracks. Its awsome when you get the hang of them! :D
