So my friend, Tim, really wants to be a professional clay modeler for a car company. He's making a 1:4 clay model in his spare time and it looks (as youth might say) pretty damn fine. He has a bit of a blog documenting the process of making the model, you can check that out below this little paragraph. This model is a bit more of a demonstrator of how to make a proper clay model as the rear right quarter of the car is left unfinished to show all the layers of material under the clay. There's not much else to say really other than other than I hope he gets this thing made as a real car because by god is this thing sexy.

And one from slightly earlier in the process.

Can you tell he likes Alfa Romeo?

Looks really cool! And very alfa indeed  He got a name for it? Needs to be something impossible to pronounce!

Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate the effort and execution--but why does everyone go 'hypercar?' They're just so boring. What's wrong with designing a compact sedan or crossover that captivates? Hell, it may actually inspire a manufacturer's design house to pick an artist up if they think they can sell millions.

I might be going a little mental here, but it has a snake/spider feel to it in that it looks as if the car is discarding its skin..... the red emerging from the silver bodywork.

It's a pretty damn impressive looking concept though. Good luck to your friend.

Will he make more clay models?

Anymore like this? I don't know, it's taken him at least a year and a half to get to this point because it's a pet project and not the main focus. His college courses may give him a project towards the end of the program to make a 1:4 model but I don't know.

I was just interested, no wonder it looks so complete and unique !
