My Gran Turismo 4 Alternative Intro!

When Gran Turismo 4 came out, I was expecting an awesome intro with lots of quick action clips and lots of cool angels. However, the reality was nothing like that. Actually, when I first saw the intro, I thought, "this is the biggest pile of crap I have ever seen"! So, finally, I have taken the matter into my own hands, and created what I think the intro should have been like...

Sorry, for the average quality. It was perfect on Movie Maker. The music by the way, is Get Free by The Vines!

Change the song.......pleeeeeeeease!! Apart from that, the viewing was good and some good shots there, I liked it overall. :)

What do you think would be a good song then mafia_boy? It would take a bit of editing but I wouldn't minf giving it a go! :) 👍

Edit: I will keep the original uploaded incase anyone else liked the music! :)

For some reason I didn't get sound at all- obviously my problem. What song was it?
Good footage there Craig HP, you could tell some seemed in fast forward.

Don't change the tune just because someone doesn't like it. You'll never please everyone.

The song is "Get Free" by The Vines. It's a real shame you could not get the sound, it went really well with the music. I seem to be really fast at making movie's though. I started it at around 6:30pm yesterday, and finished it at around 10:30 today. And I had to eat and sleep aswell. Anyway, some sugesstions for you sound problems:

1) It might be that the sound volume on the video player, (the box that the video is is) is turned down. You see the speaker sign, click on that and see if the volume is turned down. If so, turn it up fully!

2) Your speakers might not be switched on, so check, if if they are not, then turn them on!

3) The volume might be muted on your computer. Click on the speaker sign on the right of the windows tool bar and see if the sound is muted!

4) Buy some new speakers!

5) Buy some TNT and... no I won't go that far!

The clips are not mine. I downloaded them from gamespot, cut them up, edited them, and put them into the film. Then I trimed them to match the music! :)

I'm going to keep the original posted, but I'm going to have a go at editing it to different music. I like doing these things anyway so it isn't a problem! :) 👍

not bad, the action clips are somewhat fast-paced and give some sort of "adrenaline rush".., i like the part where the FD RX-7 spins out of control and the camera suddenly vibrates along with it.., it's impressive 👍👍

one thing though, my ears are ringing when i heard the song, i can't hear myself thinking.., it's like the music scatters around, you know that..,

overall nicely done!! 👍

*edit: the song is loud, as you say.., i reduced the volume, "ahh, much better..," fits the video really well..,

I don't really know what you are talking about. Mind you, I always knew the song was loud, so I have it on half-volume. Is it the sound quality, because I can't really hear anything wrong with it. If there is a problem I downloaded it of an mp3 site, it's the easiest way!

The music suited the video well, I wouldnt mind turning on GT4 to find this playing :D

Drifting247 said what I was thinking for the reason. The song made my ears hurt aswell. Don't get me wrong, not knocking his movie making skills because it was very flowing with the video and music, just the song to me is like nails down a chalkboard. :D

CraigHP, I would've thought something with a similar funky feel to it that was released around the same time aswell. Gorillaz - Feel Good Inc. is one that comes to mind. :)

*added bit* I just played the video with that exact song (had it in MP3 collection) and it actually worked quite well with it aswell, the bass started as the wheels of the TT dropped. Try it if you have the song, it comes out pretty well for it. :)

the beat of the song is good, yes.., what i meant to say is that the vocals make my ears bleed  (sorry if i just said that now, i couldn't find the right words then) :guilty:

Well then, I will give you the same advice that I gave Drifting247, turn the bloody volume down!

Edit: I am going to mix it to Feel Good.inc. However, I'm still keeping the original!

whoa whoa, take it easy man.., no need to get haywire at all.., pressure points.., inhale, exhale :D:lol:

I did, and I still blew out my 'old man' hearing aids. Having good speakers causes that. ;)

Wicked. You'll see what I mean how it blends in too.

Im not sure. I've completed about half, but the song is just to slow. But I'm still doing it, so don't wet your pants! or thongs

I'm liking it a lot but I feel it could've done with a bit more variation in cars, some more road cars instead of all the JGTC etc.
The song was good but I'm sure there's something that would be slightly better for more a wider audience to enjoy but for how much action there is in the video it's a good choice.

Overall, great stuff!
(GT3 will always be my favourite intro though :P)

There were very few road cars, until the end that is, and even fewer American cars. If I were you I would get some more clips of some different cars, and scatter them throughout the movie, rather than just near the end. Also try to include some of the special or interesting cars. GT tends to put those cars in their intros to show them off, so it'd be cool if you put some in here too.

Overall it's good and I don't have anything against the song. Some angles were amazing and I've never seen them before! If you're going to make another I suggest you use a very "intense" rock song. After all, it's an intro designed to get you psyched to play the game, so it should be exciting.

Edit: You might also want to start out slow and gradually get more intense. I always liked that.

I haven't watched the vid yet, but if you're using WMM it shouldn't take you but two seconds to remove the old song and import a new one if you saved the original file as well as the video(s).

Like GT2's intro, with the Cardigan's Losing My Favorite Game.

Clearly my freind you have no idea. "Feel Good.inc" runs at a completley different pace to "Get Free", so I have had to change the editing and the length of the clips. Anyway, I'm just uploading it onto youtube now. And sorry Minicooper120, I can't change it now because I only just read the post, sorry!

Oh ok, I thought you were just plopping the song right in there, that doesn't take long at all. Since I now know that you're actually changing the length of the clips and all that, its understandable that it's taking a bit of time.

Where did that helicopter come from? I've never seen that before in GT4.

I think some of this is from GT Prologue, and is thus invalid. There are a few clips where the graphical style isn't like GT4's and I think that is why.

for the fail 👎

Feel Good Inc. is a lot quicker paced than Get Free is.....but I reckon it went well over your original video. But if you're going to edit the clip lengths and stuff to make it even more seamless, by all means go for it. :)

Quite your moaning!

Here is v1.1 with Feel Good.inc. I am going to make a version 2, which is going to be a lot different. Hay, if anyone wants to, have a crack at it, try yourself. It will stop this thread being completley taken over with my videos, even though I did start the thread! :) 👍

So because it has Prologue in it it's automatically horrible? Do you hate Prologue? It is GT4 Prologue by the way.
