Hello

Firstly let me say i prefer tandem drifting, but this thread is about points so please don't say only noobs drift for points. This is for people drifting for points.

Ok i use to get 12k round tsukba in automatic with comfort hards all round. Then after practice i got about 19k. I got another 4k on top of that as soon as i switched to manual (i never looked back!). But i kept getting told for higher points use comfort softs on the rear and comfort hards on the front. When i did this i got about 25k and eventually got it up to my record of 30.8k in a aston martin v8 vantage.

The reason why you get more points is that having tyres with stronger grip on the rear make you understear. Which means you need a high gear and more wheel spin at a lower speed to drift. Which gets you loads of points. Also the best vehicles are high powered 900+ bhp cars with fr drivetrain. The higher gear your in with the wheels spinning the more points you will get.

First corner on tskuba i have been round that at about 10 or 15mph and in 6 gear. 7000 points coming out of the first corner.

This is how to get high points in my experince. I never ever really alter the set-up for points. just comfort softs rear and comfort hards front. This is what gets the points.

PS i now only drift for fun and tandem drifting online. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Also any feed back on this tutorial would be great !

Thanks :)

I guess this would be handy for the seasonals . . .

but I pretty much pieced it together looking at the cars + tire combos on the highscores. another thing that tipped me off was when I noticed my "crappy" 260 horsepower RX 7 wouldn't get peanuts for points untill I decided to go down to comfuh hawds and spin it in 4th/5th gears >. <

stupid points drifting . . . can't tell a good drift from a junk drift =p

well sir, it's very much appreciated that one such as yourself would share something so valuable. after reading this I tested your hypothesis and found 3 cars deserving of the elusive 30k mark in my garage so far. I got too tempted to watch the replays again and again watching those points climb.:)

as for the tyre choice i think the changing to CM or CS in the rear is for high bhp cars and may not be necessary for lower powered cars.

I really hate how all games in general do not take backwards entries as points. I guess to them it is equal to a spin? Anyway I will try this on the current seasonal. Thanks.
