its been days im trying to drift with FR cars... high power low power it doesnt matter... i just cant , im using G27
i tried to handle it firmly .. its not working..
i tried the amateur , professional , simulation type of steering.. its not working
i tried to fight the wheel.. its not working..
its getting outta control too soon & the car starts spinning my hands really hurt i even got a little scar fighting with the wheel.. the metal part got me..lol..
somebody please help me & give me some tips
im getting depressed
im sure i have the enough skill to at least be a BAD DRIFTER.. right now im not even a drifter since i cant do it

Practicing regular racing first with stock power. Relax and have fun..don't be too stressed about it.

i cant even begin to tell you how irritating the wheel is for the first week. i feel your pain. at points it seemed like i would never get better...but don't give up and keep practicing. it took me about a week and a half to be able to drift corners successfully in a row...it wasn't very pretty, but it made me happy. after a month and a half, im able to put the car wherever i want. it's al lworth it in the end

some tips a would suggest is don't use the e-brake to initiate until you get really good. if you are entering a left hand corner, simply turn right before you turn left so that the weight is transfered which starts your drift (scandinavian flick). also, right when you start your drift, let the wheel spin by itself for a little while before you take over. the force feedback is your friend, don't fight it. oh and one last thing, try going a lot slower than you think you should. its better to stall out of a drift than to slam into the outside wall ;)

I agree with all of this, but i'd like to add a couple of things. Try using a car with around 200/250hp, but don't wonrry about initiating at the entry of the corner. Go slow while turning into the corner then stamp on the power so the back kicks out and learn how to catch the countersteer, don't worry about exiting smooth or linking corners. Things like that will come once you learnt to catch the wheel.

I know how frustrating it is seeing people that are so good and you're sat there still sucking trying to just get round one corner successfully and there linking half the track, don't worry about it, it will all come to you in time. Also, try watching videos of incar footage of real drifters, that helped me so much with learning how to throw the wheel from lock to lock and the input i should be putting in while balancing the throttle.

thanks guys..
some good tips there.. maybe the best one is dont give up..
i have the wheel for a month now im ok with racing no problem.. but i started to learn drifting for just a few days now & as i said i really suck..
thanks again for all the tips it helped alot.. im sure more people will post here n help tnx

Main thing is, don't get to angry/ frustrated either. I been there and it didn't help me one bit, infact it made things a whole lot worse, lol

Start it like this:

Steering type: professinal
car: FR lightweight
LSD: 60-60-20
power: 200 HP
tires: c hards
Track: Tsukuba
Turn: the 1st one

Try to enter the turn with a medium speed and try to steer without understeer. Then hit the throttle and get it sideways. Start with a simple powerslide and try to hold the drift longer and longer.
That was the way i started drift practice at GT5

man ive been like this at the start and gave up and just raced. then coming out of the corner in 1st place isn't the ideal way of holding your place but just every now and then kick the car out and feed it back without going nuts. also ive noticed alot of people with wheels and they don't let the wheel flow. they try keeping hands on the wheel as much as they can and spin, crash, flip you name it.

Need to let the wheel spin by itself at times but also need to practice grabing it and making corrections at the right moment.

Learningto drift with the wheel helps you a huge amount when actually racing though. When doing the GT academy TT, I would have spun off and ruined alot more laps if I wasn't able to hold slides and correct them quickly like when I started off racing with the wheel. When I started out, any bit of a slide and I usually ended up flying off the the track or into a wall after twirling the wheel left and right in a failed attempt to correct it and pull myself straight.
